I don’t have that issue, but I do have choppiness on 4K content with the default app.
Question, what is your server running on, and what file sharing protocol is being used? When I used SMB I had similar issues with playback—had to switch to NFS.

When I worked for a *very* large insurance company, somebody reply-all’d to a claims department wide email with the words “spinach dip and chips”—this triggered the usual waterfall of dingus’s replying all to that email asking to be removed from the email chain, etc. It got so bad that our big manager of the entire department reply-all’d to tell people to stop replying-all—I bet you can see how that went..
Long story short: do it.

My Apple TV keeps picking up WiFi and dropping it. It is connected to Ethernet and that section of the #unifi app looks fine without any drops… I have no idea why this has been happening. Anyone have any ideas? It gives a “no network detected” message everytime it happens. Very annoying in HDR.

yup. Though, I was one of the first subscribers in this market. They rolled out within 6 months of launching in this market, things have definitely changed; their installation methods are different now. I’m just hoping the new ONT handles bridge most better than the last router they provided. This ONT is strictly an ONT, but they paired it with a router that refused to enter bridge mode. Supposedly the “SmartNID” they’ll replace it with isn’t so bad.

yeah.. my fiber terminates directly inside the ONT I have. It’s… not great. There was a plastic box mounted over the fiber hole from outside but it fell off within an hour of install. 🙃.

the new ONT will be mounted to the wall and will allow me some flexibility as far as placement. I’d like to move it to an interior wall where all my structured wiring is terminating. Currently a fiber cable enters my home from outside and slinks its way to my ONT which is in a shitty location.

not really a difference. Just a rebrand. Technically the new plan is slower at 940mbps. (Though I suspect they’re just accounting for overhead with the new speed). I would have been placed into quantum at some point so the half cost is worth that.

Yesterday I was checking to see if CenturyLink was finally offering quantum fiber to my address and discovered that not only are they offering the service, they’re offering 35$/mo price for life on 940/940 fiber.
I will need to store some wifi pucks in my house that I won’t use, so I can return them if they ever charge or I cancel service but that’s fine.
I’m excited to get a new ONT, though the ONT they install is also a router, so I’ll need to put in bridge mode.
