🚨 Iran’s attack on Prince Sultan Air Base destroyed a U.S. command aircraft that will cost $1B+ to replace — and possibly destroyed three Stratotankers costing $80 million each
New images show a destroyed Boeing E-3 Sentry at the base in Saudi Arabia, with the fuselage torn open and burned out—damage likely consistent with a total loss.
➡️ The E-3 is an AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System)- a flying radar and airborne command center that tracks threats and directs U.S. air operations across entire regions. The U.S. has only about 16 remaining, making each loss critical.
➡️ The E-3 fleet is strained, with only about half the aircraft available for missions at any given time, according to Air & Space Forces Magazine. Replacing its capability now costs over $1B per aircraft, based on current replacement programs.
➡️ The strike also hit refueling assets. Up to six KC-135 Stratotankers were reportedly at the base, with claims that three were destroyed and others damaged, though this information remains unconfirmed.
➡️ The impact:
“There are going to be coverage gaps,” says Kelly Grieco, a senior fellow at the Stimson Center. Without AWACS, the U.S. risks degraded tracking, slower targeting cycles, and weaker coordination across the battlespace.

🔺 IRGC Warning to U.S. Leadership:
“The Zionist-American invading forces, by bombing the University of Science and Technology in Tehran, have once again targeted Iranian universities.
🔹 The rulers of the White House should know that from now on, all universities of the occupying regime and American universities in West Asia are considered legitimate targets, until two universities are struck in retaliation for Iranian universities that were destroyed.
🔹 We advise all staff, professors, students, and residents near American universities in the region to stay at least one kilometer away to ensure their safety.
🔹 If the U.S. government wants its universities in the region to avoid further retaliation beyond two strikes at this stage, it must officially condemn the bombing of universities by 12:00 PM Tuesday, March 30 (Tehran time).
🔹If it wants its universities not to be targeted afterward, it must restrain its allied forces from attacking universities and research centers; otherwise, this threat will remain in effect.

🗣️Longtime Middle East diplomat and negotiator [@rob_malley](https://bird.makeup/users/rob_malley ) says Israel’s objective in its war on Iran is to create “chaos, fragment the country, and make it in some ways ungovernable.”
The aim, he argues, is to weaken and destabilize Iran so severely that it is forced to focus inward rather than project power abroad.

🔴 “They love to create failed states” — Iran’s Deputy FM
Responding to multiple reports suggesting the Trump administration has been speaking with Kurdish leaders and that the CIA has been working to arm Kurdish forces for possible ground operations, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Esmail Baghaei said:
“If you look at the pattern of their behavior over the past three or four decades, the United States and Israel love to create failed states. They love to create bloodshed. They have so much appetite for turning the states into chaos, and that’s what they are trying to do in Iran. Abusing ethnic cities, abusing other countries’ ethnic minorities. Donald Trump said the U.S. has taken control of Venezuela’s oil and completed an initial sale worth about $500 million. 🔗 “Total War For Survival”: Syria’s SDF Prepares for Showdown With Damascus
By [@alexis_daloumis](https://bird.makeup/users/alexis_daloumis )
https://www.dropsitenews.com/p/syria-government-sharaa-sdf-ceasefire-collapses-northeast-daanes-rojava

In a statement posted on social media hours after news broke that talks with the Sharaa-led government appeared to have collapsed, SDF spokesperson Farhad Shami signaled that the group was preparing for open confrontation, writing: “For our people, either a life with dignity or a death with honor.”
The SDF emerged from the Syrian civil war as a powerful militant force and, at its height, controlled roughly a third of Syria’s territory under a parallel political system known as the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DAANES), including the Kurdish region of Rojava.
The DAANES has long defined itself as a democratic confederalist project operating in direct opposition to both the former Ba’athist state and Syria’s current Sunni Islamist rulers. During the war against the Islamic State, it also drew large numbers of left-wing and anarchist foreign fighters to its ranks.
At its peak, the administration governed all territory east of the Euphrates River, encompassing most of Syria’s oil fields and two major dams. Since the fall of the Assad regime just over a year ago, the new government in Damascus has pushed to fold the SDF into the Syrian Ministry of Defense and dismantle the DAANES in favor of centralized rule. Before talks collapsed, al-Sharaa circulated a decree pledging protection for Kurdish civil rights in a future Syria, though it proposed no material changes to the constitution.
Several former SDF fighters who spoke with Drop Site described themselves as committed to fighting against attempts by Damascus to reintegrate them and expressed suspicion and hostility towards the country’s new rulers, particularly in the wake of bitter fighting between Damascus and Kurdish groups in Aleppo earlier this month and previous massacres targeting Druze and Alawite minorities in the country.
“The current Syrian interim government has through its actions proven its murderous mentality,” said Serafin, a former SDF fighter based in Hasakeh, who declined to give his full name for security reasons. “If a total war for survival were to break out on this land we live on tomorrow, whether we like it or not, we would have to take up arms again to defend our people and our land.”

EcoAnalítica, an economic analysis and research firm based in Caracas, says it is optimistic about Venezuela’s economic outlook. Looking ahead, they expect an extension of Chevron’s license so it and other energy firms can sell foreign currency from production into the financial system, boosting the flow of dollars into the economy. They also expect recognition of Venezuela’s transitional government by major multilateral institutions, relaxation of sanctions on the Central Bank (including access to IMF SDRs), and higher oil investment and production. Together these could more than triple foreign-currency revenues above $30 billion annually, leading to re-monetization, banking growth, revived credit, and a markedly different macroeconomic dynamics, they state.

The report also situates the findings within a broader escalation across Kordofan. It describes the region as highly contested, with El Obeid under Sudanese Armed Forces control but increasingly vulnerable to encirclement.
Alongside El Obeid, Kadugli and Dilling in South Kordofan’s Nuba Mountains are identified as cities already under siege, with RSF and its allied force, SPLM-North led by Abdulaziz al-Hilu, exerting pressure across multiple fronts.
Yale HRL warns that El Obeid is at risk of entering a similar siege scenario in North Kordofan. The analysis highlights a defining trend in this phase of the war: a growing reliance on aerial attacks, especially UAV strikes, aimed not only at military targets but at critical infrastructure and civilian areas.
This pattern, the report notes, is shaping both the humanitarian fallout and the trajectory of the fighting.

Speaking Saturday in Islamabad, Dar said Pakistan’s civilian and military leadership is clear on the issue: “We will not go to Gaza to disarm Hamas, but only to strengthen peace.”
Separately, he accused Israel of repeatedly violating the Gaza ceasefire signed in Sharm el-Sheikh last October and said Pakistan “condemns and rejects these breaches.”

🔴 New: The Cost of Sidelining UNRWA: Gaza Aid Stripped Before Distribution
Aid parcels reaching families in Gaza are increasingly arriving incomplete, with some of the most essential and expensive items missing before distribution, according to reporting by Ultra Palestine.
Testimonies from displaced families describe food and health packages stripped of soap, diapers, toothpaste, and hygiene supplies, many of which later appear for sale in local markets.
Analysts say the problem is systemic, beginning well before aid trucks enter Gaza. Consumer protection expert Mohamed Barbakh points to manipulation in international supply tenders, where contracted companies reduce quantities or substitute cheaper goods to cut costs. Additional losses occur during local distribution, where weights are reduced or items removed. Economists describe a broader “network of chaos and exploitation,” worsened by the absence of UNRWA, whose removal has left inexperienced organizations struggling to manage large-scale aid.
Israel’s continued restrictions on UNRWA operations and bans on hundreds of essential food items have deepened shortages, accelerating aid leakage and black-market profiteering amid mass unemployment and hunger, the report says.

Palestinian analyst Muhammad Shehada warns that major donor states are deliberately sidelining and financially starving UNRWA. In a post on X, Shehada said the agency’s largest Arab donor currently gives just $10 million, with the second largest contributing only $2 million, describing the sums as “tiny drops in an ocean.”
He added that donor countries are pushing UNRWA out of political decision-making spaces and reducing it to a narrow humanitarian role, rather than recognizing its mandate to provide services and formally register Palestinian refugees.

⭕️ Gaza journalist Asem Alnabih joined the Drop Site News livestream from Gaza City to discuss the deteriorating humanitarian conditions under severe ongoing aid restrictions and continued bombings and ceasefire violations.
He described a city being deliberately rendered unlivable under Israel’s ongoing assault. Alnabih said this is Gaza’s third winter in tents built to last “a few weeks, not two years,” as sewage systems, water networks, and fuel supplies collapse. “More than 250,000 tons of solid waste accumulated in every corner of this city… 75% of water wells have been destroyed. One hundred percent of sewage pumps are not working.” “This lovely city has been destroyed in the past 24 months… hundreds of thousands of families are staying in tents, without any basic services,” he told us.
Alnabih told Ryan Grim that Israel has only “stopped the war on television,” while bombardment continues. “The strikes continue every day… food insecurity, water scarcity, huge damage to infrastructure.”
He said Israel is openly pursuing mass expulsion: “Netanyahu said Rafah would open one way only, for people to leave, and no one would be allowed to return. That’s a very clear plan.”
Though his own children are outside Gaza, Alnabih said many refused to flee the territory and Gaza City in the north that has come under renewed Israeli attacks recently: “More than 300,000 people stayed in Gaza City and refused to leave,” he said. ”We will not allow Israel to take our city.”
“What we are asking for is not special. We are asking to be treated like any human around the world.”

⭕️ Netanyahu boasted today about the U.S. legal requirement that any American arms sale to a Middle Eastern country must not erode Israel’s Qualitative Military Edge (QME).
He said Sen. Marco Rubio assured him that the newly finalized F-35 sale to Saudi Arabia will meet that standard.
The requirement written into the U.S. Arms Export Control Act requires that the sale not erode Israel’s ability to “counter and defeat” any regional threat through superior military capabilities. It requires the Pentagon and State Department to certify to Congress that every relevant U.S. arms sale preserves Israel’s edge.

🔴 The UN Commission of Inquiry found that “forced public stripping and nudity, sexual harassment including threats of rape, as well as sexual assault” are “standard operating procedure” of Israeli forces toward Palestinians, and that “other forms of sexual and gender-based violence, including rape and violence to the genitals, were committed either under explicit orders or with implicit encouragement by Israel’s top civilian and military leadership.”
It concluded that “the frequency, prevalence, and severity of sexual and gender-based crimes perpetrated across the Occupied Palestinian Territory lead the Commission to conclude that sexual and gender-based violence is increasingly used as a method of war by Israel to destabilize, dominate, oppress, and destroy the Palestinian people.”

🚨 NEW | Israel’s Channel 12 (N12)—the country’s most-watched and top-rated news outlet—is again inciting against Palestinians after Hamas reportedly returned three bodies that don’t match any of Israel’s 11 confirmed dead captives (mostly soldiers).
AP reported on Oct 24 that Israel blocks all DNA-testing materials from entering Gaza. Euro-Med Monitor likewise confirms Israel “refuses to allow essential equipment for exhuming bodies and identifying victims, including laboratory tools, autopsy instruments, and DNA analysis kits.”
➤ So Israel destroys Gaza’s labs, bans forensic tools, and then blames Palestinians when identification errors happen.
Last time when the body Hamas returned wasn’t the captive Israel was expecting on October 29 (though the Palestinian resistance had still returned the remains of an Israeli captive), Israel launched a rampage—killing 46 children, 20 women, and 7 disabled people among 109 total Palestinians.
⭕️ Israel makes accurate identification impossible, then weaponizes the confusion to justify more killing, and its media cheerleads the genocide.

🔵 “I’m trying to breathe clean air.” — Journalist Hamza Salha’s First Weeks in Safety
After two years trapped in Gaza through Israel’s genocide, Drop Site contributor Hamza Salha has finally reached safety in Ireland on a journalism scholarship. Displaced repeatedly from Jabalia, buried once beneath rubble, and forced to bury his grandfather inside their besieged home, Hamza has lived through what he calls “hellish survival.” Many of his friends and colleagues were killed, including fellow writer Yousef Dawas, a gifted photographer.
Now studying at the University of Limerick, Hamza speaks of the “survivor’s guilt” he carries, and says he’s still mentally in Gaza: “I’m trying to heal myself… to breathe clean air, drink clean water.” In his reporting for Drop Site News, Hamza wrote through bombardment and starvation — typing on his father’s phone under the rain, using a hotspot among the rubble.
The new Palestine Deep Dive doc follows Hamza as he begins life in exile, reflecting on loss, dehumanization, weapons tech used in Israel’s war, and the meaning of survival. The full 30-minute documentary is available on YouTube at the link in reply. A short excerpt is below.

🟢 Al-Hayya: “Al-Aqsa Flood Shattered the Myth of Israel’s Humanity” — Hamas Leader Reflects on October 7 Attacks Two Years Later
Hamas negotiator Dr. Khalil al-Hayya said October 7 was “the natural result of the occupation’s ongoing crimes” and “the inevitable outcome of seventy-seven years of occupation.” He called it a turning point that “moved the Palestinian cause into a new phase” and “shattered the myth of the Zionist entity that painted itself as democratic and humane.” Al-Hayya said the assault exposed Israel as “a murderous, fascist state that believes neither in human rights nor in coexistence.” Despite the devastation, he insisted “the resistance acted on its convictions and did what duty demanded,” saying the world now recognizes how the Palestinian cause had been erased and returned to the forefront.
“When a people demand their rights, nothing can stop them,” he said, urging the Arab world and the international community to honor “the blood and sacrifices of our people.”

‼️ Israeli ministers argue over shooting Palestinian children near Gaza “Yellow Line”
Israel’s Channel 14 reported a heated cabinet session over how to handle Palestinians approaching the “Yellow Line” — the invisible divide stretching across all of Gaza and splitting it in half, that Israel orders civilians to not cross.
▪️The deputy army chief reportedly said soldiers have been firing at adults who approach the line, while “children and donkeys” — we stop them.
▪️Far-right extremist minister Itamar Ben Gvir demanded that troops “shoot the child and the donkey too,” saying Israel must “stop being merciful.”
▪️Shin Bet minister Dichter rebuked him, warning against “shooting everyone who comes near the fence,” to which Defense Minister Israel Katz concluded, “Anyone approaching the fence should know they will be hit.”
Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud earlier noted that the Yellow Line is only visibly marked in very few areas — elsewhere it’s still invisible, leaving civilians exposed to unmarked free fire zones.
Reports from Gaza throughout the day showed Israel continuing to fire and bomb across multiple areas. Israeli drone fire killed one civilian near Bani Suhaila; artillery pounded Deir al-Balah; and massive airstrikes hit southeast Khan Younis according to Al Jazeera. In Gaza City, forces blew up homes and shelled eastern neighborhoods. Nearly 100 Palestinians have been murdered since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, exactly two weeks ago.

🚨Trump Says He’s ‘Making a Decision’ on Marwan Barghouti’s Release
Asked by Time in an interview conducted on October 15 whether Israel should free imprisoned Palestinian leader Marwan Barghouti, Trump said he had just been “confronted with that question about 15 minutes” earlier and was “making a decision.”
Barghouti, jailed since 2002, is seen as the most popular Palestinian figure capable of uniting factions behind a two-state solution. His son Arab Barghouti told PBS that Israel refuses to release him precisely because of that unifying power, urging Western governments to act: “I’m asking myself, what are these Western leaders and Western governments waiting for? This is the man who could unify the Palestinian people for the political vision that you’re asking for... So show that you’re willing to take steps by calling for his release.”

⭕️ “What are these Western leaders and Western governments waiting for?” asks Arab Barghouti, son of the imprisoned Palestinian leader Marwan Barghouti – the most popular figure in Palestinian politics.
In an interview with PBS, Arab urged Western powers to act on their own stated vision of a two-state solution rather than ignore the one man – “the Palestinian Mandela” – who is capable of leading it. “This is the man who could unify the Palestinian people for the political vision you’re asking for, you’re supporting,” he said. “So show that you’re willing to take steps by calling for his release.”
Arab said his father’s popularity and political vision are precisely why Israel refuses to free him: “Anyone in their right mind that wants an end to this cycle of violence would see that my father represents a great positive voice for a political settlement. The fact that he has a vision accepted by the international community is the reason why the Israeli government does not want him released… They understand he is not a security threat, and he’s never been. He’s not a military guy. But they don’t want a political figure who is willing and capable of unifying the Palestinian people towards a two-state solution that is accepted by everyone.”

Nearly one million of Gaza’s 1.1 million olive trees have been destroyed—bulldozed by Israeli forces, left to die from thirst, or trapped behind military lines. In his new report for Drop Site, Gaza journalist Mohamed Suleiman reports from Al-Mawasi and Khan Younis, where farmers are enduring their third lost harvest and an olive oil industry on the brink of extinction.
What was once a source of income and identity for more than 10,000 families has been gutted: presses shattered, irrigation gone, and surviving trees cut for firewood. “These trees are life itself,” one farmer said. “When it dies, it feels like another disaster.”
Agricultural experts say the devastation is systematic, designed to erase Gaza’s ability to feed itself. Rebuilding will take years—if the ceasefire lasts long enough for new trees to take root.

Gershon Baskin, Middle East peace negotiator, to CNN:
“I know Marwan [Barghouti] very well. I know him from 1996… I conducted a correspondence between Marwan and one of the former heads of the Israeli Shin Bet. They managed to exchange letters five times before the war began.”
He said Marwan’s final letter outlined “a two-state solution with a regional economic and security framework — an envelope to provide both Israel and Palestine with the security needs they both have.”
Baskin added that he recently wrote to U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff — with whom he said in a separate interview he interacts every day — detailing Marwan’s background and political relevance. 🚨BREAKING: A source close to the Palestinian negotiating team tells Drop Site the agreement includes “a permanent end to the war to be announced by Trump.”
He acknowledged the deal is problematic, but it contains some terms that Hamas and other Palestinian factions pushed for in their response to Trump, including deferring major issues that would alter the future of Gaza and Palestine itself. “No surrender, no disarming, no mass exile, but most of all a permanent end to the war to be announced by Trump,” he noted.

🟢 “I want to tell you a story that was shared with me by the chief Egyptian negotiator,” Senior Hamas leader Abu Marzouk told Drop Site’s Jeremy Scahill.
Maj. Gen. Ahmed Abdel Khaleq asked his Israeli intelligence counterpart whether he understood the maps attached to Trump’s Gaza proposal. Marzouk said the Israeli replied, “‘No.’ Why? Because this map has no meaning. It is hand-drawn, with no spaces, distances, locations, or anything,” Marzouk said.
“While in previous discussions, the text was clear… these maps were drawn by people who are used to camel races. They don’t know the basics of map-making.” Marzouk said “the first point now must be to define the maps… neither the Israelis nor the Egyptians understood the maps at all.”

🚨 Senior Hamas leader Mousa Abu Marzouk told Drop Site’s Jeremy Scahill that while “the area of withdrawal may be a matter of debate,” it would be “impossible to have a prisoner exchange” while Israeli forces remain in Gaza’s population centers.
“We don’t know exactly where the prisoners are. Even the negotiators in the current dialogues do not know their locations,” he said. “Therefore, they must withdraw from populated areas. There cannot be an exchange [if the forces remain].”
He added that if soldiers don’t withdraw from highly populated residential areas, “it would mean that Israel does not want Trump’s plan to be implemented.”
Marzouk said “the first point now must be to define the maps… this will be the main obstacle.”

Netanyahu reveals to Hebrew audiences after the press event where Trump revealed the 20-point plan to end the war on Gaza, that he has no intention of withdrawing Israeli troops from Gaza – “No way, that’s not happening.”
He said:
“This is a historic visit. Instead of Hamas isolating us, we turned the tables and isolated Hamas. Now the entire world, including the Arab and Muslim world, is pressuring Hamas to accept the terms we set together with President Trump: to release all our hostages, both living and deceased, while the IDF remains in most of the Strip. Who would have believed this? After all, people constantly say, the IDF should withdraw… No way, that’s not happening.”

REPORT | Saudi outlet Asharq Al-Awsat reports that Israel has launched airstrikes against prominent families in Gaza City after their elders refused to collaborate with Shin Bet’s plan to establish clan-based governing bodies in place of Hamas.
The Israeli intelligence agency approached elders from the Bakr and Doghmush families, proposing that they form local armed groups to manage aid, administer neighborhoods, fight Hamas, and pass intelligence to Israel. The goal, sources said, was to divide Gaza into “regions” run by clans or armed groups, preventing the emergence of a unified Palestinian government and blocking the foundations of any future Palestinian state.
When both families rejected the offer, Israel launched retaliatory strikes. In Sabra, southern Gaza City, an airstrike on the Doghmush family killed 30 people, with at least 20 still buried under rubble. Hours later, Israeli warplanes bombed a Bakr family home near Al-Shati refugee camp, killing six, wounding 11, and later struck another multi-story Bakr residence and an empty building near Gaza’s port.
A Bakr elder reportedly confirmed to Asharq Al-Awsat that Israeli intelligence had demanded they govern Al-Shati after Hamas was cleared out, but the family “categorically refused.” He said they knew reprisals would follow and immediately instructed relatives to evacuate, especially women and children.
The Bakr clan, one of Gaza’s largest with deep roots in the fishing trade and members linked to Fatah and Islamic Jihad, stressed that their refusal was a patriotic stance against collaboration with Israel, not loyalty to Hamas.
The report adds that Israel has increasingly relied on clan-based militias operating in east Rafah, east Khan Younis, east Gaza City, and the northern Strip. Many families have publicly disowned members who joined such groups, led by figures like Yasser Abu Shabab, Rami Helles, and Hossam Al-Astal. Hamas has repeatedly ambushed these militias, killing or wounding some fighters, and in some cases arresting and executing collaborators publicly.
The attempt to split Gaza along clan lines is not new: after the first year of genocide, then–Defense Minister Yoav Gallant advanced a similar scheme, but Hamas thwarted it by threatening and killing two leading figures who considered cooperating.
Israel’s broadcaster Kan reported the same. Linked below 👇

🇩🇪 On October 7, 2024, then-German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock told the Bundestag that Israel’s “right to self-defense” included striking civilian sites in Gaza.
She said: “Self-defense means not only attacking terrorists but destroying them. When Hamas terrorists hide behind people, behind schools… civilian places lose their protected status.”
Academics—more than 300 of them— demanded she retract the statement, warning it distorted international law and risked greenlighting civilian massacres. Protesters in Berlin condemned it as an invitation to violence.
Under the Geneva Conventions and customary international humanitarian law, civilian objects (homes, schools, hospitals) remain protected. They only lose that protection if directly used for military purposes (e.g. as a firing position)—and even then, the attacker must apply distinction, proportionality, and precaution. Civilians inside remain protected at all times. Baerbock’s framing ignored these safeguards, giving the impression of a blanket license to bomb — as Israel has done with thousands of civilian sites over the course of the genocide.
Baerbock, now in her first week as President of the UN General Assembly (80th session, September 2025) was asked whether she would distance herself from those remarks. Her response 👇

‼️The Voice of Hind Rajab wins Silver Lion in Venice — as Hind’s mother, surrounded by Israeli tanks in Gaza City, issues a “last cry for help”
Tunisian director Kaouther Ben Hania’s docudrama on 5-year-old Hind Rajab — killed alongside her family after hours trapped in a car under Israeli fire — won the Grand Jury Prize (Silver Lion), the festival’s second-highest honor, after premiering to a 24-minute standing ovation.
Meanwhile, Hind’s mother, Wissam Hamada, has issued an urgent plea from Gaza City, where Israeli tanks surround her neighborhood as the military moves to ethnically cleanse the city of its 1 million residents. Living there with her surviving 5-year-old son, she describes the siege as “a living hell” and says: “This could be my last cry for help. I am begging every influential person, every celebrity, every connection to save me… Tanks have surrounded our neighborhood. We must leave, but we have nowhere to go… I want to live. I want to protect my family. Please save us.”
Hamada has also appealed for financial support to survive. Her desperate plea and the ongoing Israeli assault on Gaza City have gone unmentioned in the glowing international coverage of the film’s success.

Dr. Bahbah continued:
“You need to strike while the iron is hot. If there’s an offer on the table like this one, you have to hold onto it to end the war in Gaza. Hamas did the right thing. This time their response was quick, rational, and responsible. Before, they wanted to take their time, but that doesn’t work with this administration, which wants to move fast from one file to the next. They don’t have the time that Biden’s administration had. So with this administration, you need to close the issue as soon as they show interest.”
Anchor:
The American president says all hostages must be released. Hamas says it’s ready for a comprehensive deal. The Israeli defense minister says they’re deceiving. How do you read that?
Dr. Bahbah:
Hamas agreed to the American president’s offer. As for the Israeli defense minister—set him aside. If he thinks Hamas is deceiving, the truth will become clear in a few days.
Anchor:
Netanyahu’s office has also just issued a statement saying the same thing—that Hamas is deceiving. Does that mean Israel has no intention of agreeing?
Dr. Bahbah:
From my perspective, Israel has no intention of ending the war or even releasing the hostages. Everyone knows Netanyahu only cares about staying in power and avoiding prison.
Anchor:
But many people feel that Trump hasn’t used enough force to pressure Netanyahu.
Dr. Bahbah:
That’s true. But Trump did apply enough pressure back on January 19 when he said, “Agree to a ceasefire deal,” and Netanyahu did. Now we hope that this time the president will follow through. I believe he genuinely wants to end the war, see the hostages go back to their families, and see Palestinian prisoners freed. I believe he will pressure all sides to reach a solution.
Anchor:
The issue seems clear. Hamas says the card it holds is the hostages. If they release them, what guarantees are there that the war will stop and Israel will withdraw?
Dr. Bahbah:
We’re not at that stage yet. Right now, there’s an offer. The details don’t need to be overly complex. Hostages are released and prisoners exchanged on a set day. On that same day, the war is declared over. Within a week, Israel withdraws from half the Strip. Within another week or two, Israel withdraws from the rest of Gaza.
Anchor:
Is that scenario realistic?
Dr. Bahbah:
If there’s a will, it’s possible.
Anchor:
If Israel has the will, and if the White House has the will to apply pressure…
Dr. Bahbah:
Exactly. The key is American pressure. That’s what will decide whether there’s a deal or not.

✴️ NEW | Unofficial Trump envoy Dr. Bishara Bahbah says Hamas has accepted a new U.S. concept for a “comprehensive deal” that he personally conveyed to the resistance group.
Palestinian-American businessman and unofficial Trump envoy Bahbah told Al Arabiya he delivered a U.S. proposal to Hamas: release all Israeli captives in exchange for ending the war. He says Washington has stepped up its involvement, but in the end it depends on how much pressure it’s willing to apply on Israel: “Without American pressure, nothing will happen.”
Here are key excerpts from that interview, translated and edited for clarity by Drop Site News:
Dr. Bahbah:
A meeting was held in Washington that lasted, as I understand it, about six hours. It was decided that there would be one final offer on the table: the release of all prisoners in exchange for the end of the war. We indeed communicated this to Hamas, and at first they hesitated. They weren’t sure if this was official or unofficial, and so on. Then they saw the president’s tweet.
Anchor:
That was last Sunday (the meeting).
Dr. Bahbah:
Yes. Once they saw the president’s tweet, they were convinced it was official. Hamas’s reaction was almost immediate: they agreed to the deal. They wanted it to be comprehensive—hand over all the Israelis, receive a certain number of Palestinian prisoners, and at the same time, the war would end. Hamas also expected Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza.
Anchor:
“Some people, especially those who are frustrated, think Israel won’t end things that easily—get its prisoners back, end the war, and withdraw. I hope I’m wrong in that assessment.
Dr. Bahbah:
I often hear from Israelis themselves that Netanyahu needs American pressure to accept a deal. Without that pressure, it’s hard for him to face Smotrich and Ben-Gvir. Right now, the U.S. position is clear: they want the war ended and all hostages released at once—not in groups of two, five, or seven. So what are the chances Israel backs away from this? As of now, they’ve rejected it, saying Hamas is trying to deceive. But what I know is that the U.S. has stepped up its involvement. In the end, it all depends on the type and amount of pressure on Israel. Without American pressure, nothing will happen.”
Anchor:
Every time we get close to an agreement, it falls apart. This is deeply frustrating—not for us, but for the people of Gaza. So this time, is there real American pressure being applied? Or will Witkoff just turn against Hamas tomorrow like he has before?
Dr. Bahbah:
All I can speak to is what I see. What I see now is that there’s an American offer: end the war in exchange for the release of all prisoners. What will happen after four or five days, only God knows.
Anchor:
When you passed this message to Hamas, they announced publicly that they accepted a comprehensive deal. But people always ask: what about the details? How many prisoners will be released? Or the bigger question: what about the future of Hamas itself? Will Israel end the war and leave Gaza without achieving what it set out to do—removing Hamas from power and disarming them?
Dr. Bahbah:
This issue is not on the table. If it comes up, we will address it. But for now, it’s not on the table. All I’ve been told, and what I can convey, is that the hostages will be released in exchange for a certain number of prisoners, and at the same time, we (USA) will guarantee the end of the war and the withdrawal of Israel.
Anchor:
As a mediator, having been involved in these negotiations for months, can you say with a clear conscience that Hamas has offered everything it could? Because the general perception is that Israel hasn’t offered anything. But let’s stick to Hamas—have they given what they should?
Dr. Bahbah:
At this stage, especially in their response to the American offer, Hamas was positive and gave everything it could.

📰 ‘Maximum territory and minimum Arabs’: Smotrich unveils ‘sovereignty plan’ for 82% of the Occupied West Bank
“There is and never will be a Palestinian state in our land.” — Bezalel Smotrich, Israel’s far-right Finance Minister who also holds a Defense Ministry portfolio over West Bank civilian administration, doubled down this morning on his demand that Netanyahu immediately move to annex the Occupied West Bank.
📌 Key details:
1.Two “Consensus Points”:
▪️ No Palestinian state: Smotrich declared that after October 7, it is “out of the question” to establish a Palestinian state — which he labeled a “terror state in the heart of the land” and that could leave Israel within what he termed “Auschwitz borders.”
▪️ Sovereignty: He said Israel must apply sovereignty to West Bank territories — “The broad consensus for sovereignty stems from the understanding that we cannot allow an existential threat to grow within us.”
2.Annexation Formula:
Smotrich proposed applying Israeli law to 82% of the West Bank under a guiding principle of “maximum land with minimum Arabs.” Palestinians, he said, would continue under the PA “for now,” and later under local administrative frameworks designed to prevent any national collective.
3.Dismissal of Security Warnings:
Brushing off concerns from Israel’s security establishment, Smotrich ridiculed what he called “scaremongering clichés” that sovereignty would “set the Middle East on fire.” He compared it to past warnings over settlement expansion: “We did it, and nothing happened. That’s exactly what will happen with sovereignty.”
4.October 7 as Justification:
He framed October 7th as proof that decades of withdrawals and restraint had only fueled terror: “We are done surrendering to threats and intimidation… If the Palestinian Authority dares to lift its head, we will destroy it just like Hamas.”
https://t.co/tGMBb7PS00 Appeal to Netanyahu:
Smotrich urged the Prime Minister to seize the moment and enshrine annexation, promising it would mark the current government as a “historic turning point” and Netanyahu himself as “the leader who once and for all rescued Israel from the existential threat euphemistically called a Palestinian state.”
➤ Joining Smotrich was Yisrael Gantz, head of the Binyamin Regional Council — the largest West Bank settlement bloc — and since 2024 chair of the Yesha Council, the umbrella for settlers. A leading public face of the annexation drive, Gantz echoed the call for Israeli ‘sovereignty.’
Bottom Line:
For Smotrich and Gantz, the path forward rests on two pillars — permanently blocking Palestinian statehood and unilaterally annexing the West Bank.

NEW: Microsoft President Brad Smith held a press briefing after today’s No Azure for Apartheid occupation of his office. Asked about Microsoft’s relationship with the Israeli military, Smith said:
“The vast majority of what Microsoft does for the Israeli military is protect the cybersecurity of the state of Israel… That is our primary focus. There are some other activities as well. That involve the use of Azure for storage for example, for processing of data.”
On August 6, The Guardian, with +972 Magazine and Local Call, revealed that Israel’s Unit 8200 has used Microsoft’s Azure cloud to store and analyze massive volumes of Palestinian phone call data — one of the largest surveillance systems ever built for a civilian population. The data was then used to plan airstrikes on Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.
Leaked documents show Microsoft executives, including CEO Satya Nadella, knew Unit 8200 was archiving “a million calls an hour” with custom Azure infrastructure. The revelations forced Microsoft into a second external investigation over whether its work with Israel violates its own human rights policies.

⚡️ BREAKING: Microsoft employees and other demonstrators with the No Azure for Apartheid movement are currently occupying the office of company president Brad Smith. Workers say they have re-established a “Liberated Zone” inside Microsoft’s executive Building 34, renaming it the Mai Ubeid Building in honor of a Palestinian software engineer killed in an Israeli airstrike.
Bloomberg reported earlier today that Microsoft has spent the past year trying to crush employee dissent over its ties to Israel’s war on Gaza — including enlisting the FBI, working with police, and censoring internal posts mentioning “Gaza.” The company has suspended and fired workers who spoke out, while employees have continued to stage disruptions, from mass emails to sit-ins and viral protests. The employee-led movement is protesting Microsoft profiting from and enabling Israel’s atrocities in Palestine through its Azure cloud and AI tools. Despite repression, workers say they won’t stop until Microsoft cuts its ties to Israel’s military.
According to the organizers’ statement, today’s action included deploying noisemakers into the atrium, unfurling banners, and delivering a “People’s Court Summons” to Brad Smith. Their demands include: cutting ties with Israel, calling for an end to genocide and forced starvation, reparations for Palestinians, and ending workplace discrimination.
