Put more simply; I care about mastodon being equal opportunity, and improving ease of access for all.
That does not mean the audience segmentation should match other places. Those other places have their own biases skewing their own audiences. I sure as hell don’t think mastodon ought to have the same representation of fascists as twitter does “to be fair”, for example. That place grows those, we do not.

This is a space that lets anyone say anything. It is a space that doesn’t give benefits to engagement farming techniques. It is largely *human centred* and free. Got it working via some other approaches.
two container definitions, and a ::before and ::after.
The before is a triangle floated left with shape-outside so the text wraps with the angle.
The after is absolute positioned and z-indexed behind for the colour background.
The boxes aspect ratio isn't fixed. Hence the backflips to get here requiring trigonometry and some hacky-feeling tricks.

Ok, CSS people, what have I not understood here?
I have a know angle to use, and am trying to use the sin function along with container queries to always draw the correct clip-path angle even when aspect ratio changes.
I'm setting the text box as a container. I'm using it's height (100cqb) as the only "variable" in the clip path definition.
The container height should be stable. It, clearly, is not.
Why not? The dashed blue dot IS the container. It is stable. Why does my clip path change?

This is why I don't ascribe to "blanket statement" stuff. Way too many people don't realise that *every* group they might malign is, essentially, made of people just like them. That it's almost never "flawed character / ideology" - it's just "they were just like you, but in different circumstance to you; and you'd have likely handled the shit they had to in broadly the same way they did - you just haven't been tested as they were".

I'll re-iterate what I said yesterday:
- Once you outsource your manufacturing to other countries, you no longer retain the skills and workforce to spin it back up.
- Once you're reliant on outsourced work, the people you outsourced to have the power and get to dictate terms.
AI is *exactly* the same thing.
Once it's been relied on long enough that there are not enough juniors with the fundamental knowledge, few to no seniors left... that's the end of your ability to not rely on AI providers.

Working on a truly ancient site.
First shot is the code formatted as I got it. Second is re-formatted so I could read it properly.
It was only with the reformatted code that I could see the problem: a tag needed to be self-closing, and wasn't. This was stopping any output on the page, but "still working" in the CMS.

Indent your code for readability. Use tabs for indentation, spaces for alignment.
Lay that shit out. Put it into columns and groupings.
We are humans, not robots. We scan things, we detect patterns and groupings. *All humans do this*. We pre-parse everything we see in 2D, including words and code, before we stream in data sequentially.
Do not do a robot's work for them. Do not be lazy.
I just fixed a bug because I re-formatted "computer code" so it was scannable.

40-60fps is pretty standard for HyTale on an M1 MacBook Air 16Gb.
And that's not set to "stupid simple" video quality either.
Biggest thing: set the scale value to 50% so it's not trying to render Retina.
Oh... and expect the frame rate to drop after 10min because Apple don't do "cooling". Still always playable tho.

2026 is the year I remember to be more active on Kiva rather than leaving "credit" un-assigned to people that need it.

Right. Well.
After an hour and a half I think I'm 80% sure I now have all my photos and voice memos off my Apple devices / iCloud and onto an external HDD.
Not without massive effort. Not without metadata loss. Not fully sure.
And all this because iCloud's tier system is a massive jump from "£3/m for 200Gb" which I'm right on the edge of, to the next level.
And because I can't fit the photos onto my laptop as well as my files, so need it on an external drive.

My dog continues to dislike the winter coat I made him.

Needless to say I have to drag him out for toilet breaks and walks. He has taken to going as limp as possible in protest during the being clothed process. Interesting.
Something with a very recent update of Vivaldi seems to have broken a `filter` effect; specifically on video backdrops.
Spot the difference between it and Safari here. The top menu should be blurred out gradually (with a colour tint). And has been for weeks. But today (first time I've loaded it in a week or two), the blur effect no longer works with video behind it, only the tint - but is *just fine* with text and images behind it.
Look at the "bloom" of the bright parts.

OSX Photos.
- Whole app is hung, doing nothing.
- When it's not hanging, try adding images to albums: half the time they don't appear.
- Click an image, fails to load the full res.
Just, abysmally poor program from Apple - one of the worst quality applications I've ever used from any company.
The moment you go off the expected path (on internal SSD, with iCloud) it shits the bed so messily.
In theory it supports external HDD storage.
In theory it supports not being iCloud.

Not something I had ever considered - but also, I hadn’t considered reaching down and between. It’s a reach behind, then wipe front to back - which I believe is the correct direction. To me, standing, surely that squishes the cheeks together more.

Ok, Obsidian people - I am feeling like a dunce.
I have no issues at all making a Base when using the embeded syntax:

Trying to use a .base file though - I can find *no way* to get to typing manually in there. The only interface I can find is the GUI, and I am not interested in that. I want to type - and COPY AND PASTE - but... how? For love nor money I can't work out how. There's no "view source" option. Let me at my CODE.
What am I missing?

Long ago I used to watch LTT often, but I started falling off it around when Anthony stopped being in front of camera. Lately, even WAN show has seemingly vanished from my YouTube. But on the odd occasion I do get some videos appear. And they’re always off putting. Not just the subject (read the room; no one’s enjoying daft money dropped on daft projects anymore); or the negative attitude; but the thumbnails… they’re all feeling AI. They aren’t; but they look *unreal*. Plastic. Fake. Bad.

Borders now cleared of bricks and broken glass; weed suppressing fabric down, gravel on top. Swept. Bottom section rough-levelled and covered in plastic to stop weeds, until I get to do what I want there next year. Back yard 2025; done.
I may even get to enjoy it for a few weekends before the seasons turn :)
Will investigate fake grass to cover the slabs.

Yesterday and today I applied waterproofing to the garage’s wooden bits, my hand-made roof-mounted solar panel frame, and both new gates.
They all drank it like they’d never seen moisture before.
Also done a first coat of masonry paint out back.

How pissed are the community? It’s been one hour since the announcement, the Discord is still civil, and we have tripled Mouses’ donation goal for the Immune Deficiency Foundation on Tiltify.
I can not believe how badly Vshojo have fucked up here. But that does explain why a good number of talents have left the company recently.
I hope that owed money makes it to where it should be. And I am kinda furious at how Mouse has been guilt tripped and treated.

Oh, it turns out that it's not a weirdness with Vite that's suddenly started happening to me, it's that Vivaldi is crashing the tab every time I save a file and Vite tries to reload.
Not that this little graphic tells you a damn thing about what it means, I had to reverse image search.
Solution, it turns out: drop your blocking level to just Trackers, not Ads. (There are no ads, but I get why it might have trouble with a dev script like Vite's auto-reloader)
