What I find fascinating is how queer people standing up to tyranny are slowing being purged from social media....unless you've a big audience you are memoryholed like a Stalin photo. Off to the gulags you go!
Many people didn't notice when I disappeared off Facebook, blithely happy in their bubble til all queers disappear off their timeline....
This is how fascism happens btw., if you needed reminding.
We just disappear.

Am I finally booted off Twitter? I know the TERFs have been trying for ages.
You know, the "free speech is everything, just speaking my mind, don't censor me" sort. Who doxx and flag queer people ALL the time with no compunction?
Oddest thing though, it was for 'inauthentic behaviors.'? If there was one thing I wasn't on X/Twitter, is inauthentic.
Shouty at bigots and resisting TERFdom cos I'd been there since 2007. 2013 on that account but I guess both are nuked now....
Not that bothered, it was a matter of time after The Big Pouty Child took it over and wanted to push transphobia and fascism on the site.
But I'm stubborn and didn't want to leave a platform I'd been using for nearly 20 years without a fight...and I fought!

Leninists? I am a Marxist Leninist pretty much, hard-left socialist. But also a realist and some Leninists would critique me as being too centrist on some issues.
Revolution would be good, but not if the working class suffer for it. Some want many people to die for some odd reason. They actually hate the poor - and look down on them, middle class bourgeoise in Castro clothes.
But I'm not a Stalinist or communist.
I've met those here and was frankly amazed that communists cosplaying the 1950's still exist, a sort of Revolutionary Ren Faire thing. Comrade, time has moved on!
Fascinating. *Spock eye brow*

Anyone had a situation in a shared garden where a neighbour is throwing your plants away in your pots without asking?
Just had a neighbour throw out a load of John's plants and to say I'm upset is an understatement. I wonder if I can get legal about this....

If you really needed a demonstration of how fucking stupid TERFs are and how they think trans = trans women and don't think trans men and enbies exist - it's this sad letter from male services for mental health.
i.e MALE same sex spaces. Nothing to do with women or children, things like Men's Shed. They are worried about their precarious funding, men's mental health is ignored as is, and possible legal impact: It offers no thoughts about the wider isssue, just how it affects them.
https://x.com/AMHW_UK/status/2082856895811838368
That post and various retweets, they are attracting the rabid types screaming about 'protecting women' where the letter and post is nothing about that AT ALL. There aren't any women rocking up to Men's Shed.
Stupid as a bunch of rocks, the lot of them.

it's because like in the example video I posted, you can't go in either.
If you're a transwoman who passes, you look out of places in the men's and can get attacked or worse, but according to these guidelines you can't go into the women's without aggro from others or the venue, especially if you don't pass totally.
Same for trans men.

yes I am aware of that, why I said that although it's not against criminal law to pee wherever you like...there are consequences including legal ones for the places that provide the toilets, and social ones with challenged because some people feel they have a legal right to stop you - which isn't true.
A freezing effect on rights. So the laws on paper allow it, but effectively it's banned.
The difference between actual law. perception of law, and also backdoor things and fear created by these guidelines and lawfare.
As I said, it's a mess.

more direct experience.
"Just last week I went for a pre-assessment for a routine knee operation and was told that I would not be on the women’s ward – I would need a separate room. I can only assume this is related to the recent legislation, and it was strange and uncomfortable to realise that my experience of the healthcare system felt more inclusive and safe during the 1960s than it does in 2026."

It is crazy that in the big bad 60's and 70's trans women could just be, and although as she says tolerated, it's gone backwards

what?
The guidelines affect every space, and even private orgs and publicly owned spaces are affected. What of 'all spaces' do you not understand?
Again with the picking holes.
Only exception is private clubs - I haven't read every part of the guidelines since they reposted them, but I guess there might be a religious exemption as well.

she most definitely is part of the Epstein Class.
The whole attack on trans women is a smokescreen to protect cis male predators.
She says almost nothing about cis male rapists or abusers.
Look how all the TERFs are praising Rod Liddle - who hit his younger pregnant girlfrien after deserting his wife on her honeymoon, wrote about wanting to watch child porn and fucking under 14 year olds? And racist, homophobic, transphobic, Islamophobic and all the rest.
Very much a predator in Savile/Epstein style, but they loved him.

"treated as their sex assigned at birth" means everywhere. Not just sports teams, not just toilets.
It's medical access, it's workplaces, it's everywhere.
So you can now be denied access to medical groups or support because it's deemed single sex at birth, your workplace has to make accomodations and provide a gender neutral alternative toilet, many places can't afford this...so employment becomes an issue....it goes on and on.
The big problem is interpretation. Cos of the possibility of being sued, many places are going to be very conservative about allowing access and are going to be transphobic by proxy. Frightened into being bigoted like the Girl Scouts by lawsuits they can't afford.
Amnesty is just the start. It will take trans folks suing to get rights back, I fear. And of course JKR and co. have very big pockets.
So the effective laws of this nation is decided by the Epstein Class who don't even live here having lots of money.
Something everyone should be worried by, because who is next?

2026-08-06 15:51:23 UTC

- reply

" private places and private teams" - doesn't exist.
Apart from some exception to private clubs - all places could face a legal challenge if a cis woman (or men, any cisgender person) feels a trans person is infringing a same sex space.
Doesn't mean they did anything, just be there. As I said, like apartheid.
It's the Tories fault, they employed many TERFs to the Equality Commission for this very reason. And oddly Labour continued the trend....

2026-08-06 15:46:00 UTC

- reply

the problem is...the laws are a mess, because althought strictly they haven't changed the law - you can pee where you want...these guidelines have emboldened people to sue.
It's called lawfare. So even if the laws don't change, and it stays a guideline - which given what it happening it might not stay just a guideline, it's in effect a law by the backdoor because JK Rowling has a lot of money pledged to fighting unisex toilets, trans people in same sex spaces, etc.
So even though people say 'no rights have changed' - they effectively have. Or people THINK they have, which means they challenge and attack people...when they have no right to. So it means the perception of the law has changed...which makes it the law in effect.
Also puberty blockers being banned (although there is now a trial), trans youth aren't get healthcare...and they are eyeing up doing same for adults. That is directly affected.

Not A Phase, Trans Actual, look up their sites.

And also those sites have direct experience....I've not had it because I seem 'cis' but I know people who have had aggro in toilets.
Here's one of a Cis woman who has faced aggro, it's not just trans folks https://x.com/LBC/status/2084975281199005996
And tbh at this point, given this discussion, whatever I post I suspect you're gonna pick holes or not look at it?
That's also why I don't 'educate' people like this, because they have to WANT to be educated. Arguing for hours with someone who turns out to be not listening is not a good use of my time.

Again, it's easy to Google this stuff -are you being obtuse for a reason, or genuinely want to know?
"I don't see why it's so important to go to a particular toilet." - cos often that's the only toilet? They aren't that frequent.
Have you used any public toilets in the UK recently?
And strange you seem to think the guidelines are selective...it's any public space and that includes cafes, restaurants, swimming pools and the like. Not just government or orgs.
Only exception I think is private clubs. But again, it depends where and what time. Some places you can't just nip into a pub or whatever, they are often 'customer only' and of course not 24 hour and limited opening on Sundays.

and it's not a recent phenomenon either. Years before the current trans witchhunt really got going, the UK was sliding down the rankings - #8 in 2019:
These are assessed on laws and actions so it's not a random index. ILGA is a big international org, they don't really have an axe to grind re: UK specifically. We used to be #1 in 2015 after marriage equality!

it's easily Googlable, hence not providing sources.
So assuming your question is in good faith (tbh TERFs often do the exact line you are going down so really sceptical)
https://goodlawproject.org/uk-plummets-down-rankings-for-lgbtq-rights/
ILGA has been tracking this for years...decades even. We used to be #1 - now we are way below the European average for LGBTQ rights.
Trans Europe and Central Asia (TGEU) also tracks this.
https://www.equaldex.com/equality-index
Compare Canada for the legal side - it's not just opinion, it's the legal protections as well. The UK is lagging behind on self ID, access to trans healthcare and puberty blockers, and a bunch of other things.
Immigration is also an issue, since those fleeing homophobic and transphobic regimes, unlike say Canada don't get welcomed, it's much harder to prove. Marriage also means nothing re; a right to stay.

2026-08-06 14:22:04 UTC

they are - the new guidelines for same sex spaces that came in yesterday is definitely trying to reduce trans and queer rights by segregation - the idea that just by existing in a spce you can get booted out by some complaing white cis het Karen.
People are calling it an apartheid policy, and it's not hyperbole. I have friends who are worried to go into a toilet now....it's not some abstract thing. I am trans non-binary but look cis male so unlikely to get aggro. But others do - and are - including cis women who don't conform to gender.
The whole 'what rights are being attacked?' ignored that the UK has slid down the equality rankings for years, and is now seen as a toxic place.
And they want to take that ostracism of trans folks from spaces further - the lawfare of JK Rowling and co.
I agree Amnesty caved due to legal pressure. But that's Amnesty's job to resist pressure like that....surprised that massive dictatorships didn't get them to cave but a children's book author with a lot of money did?

I dunno, mass revolt is hard to counter. You're talking about a small militia or a few preppers. If the whoie populace rises up, it's not a fantasy.
It's rare...but they can't bomb everyone. And I know they have tried (Syria, Gaza) - there is a point where they have to destroy everything and it's a zero sum game...cos nothing is left.
Which they might do, but then no-one runs their factories, no-one buys their products, no-one exists for their propaganda...doing it abroad or in another place is one thing, but never good to shit where you sleep.

Other times, the companies that hire her need an entire redraw that, somehow, remains true to the contours of the original AI version she was given - and those often end up taking longer than if she’d simply cooked up the design herself.
There’s people that are aware AI isn’t perfect, and then there’s people that come to you angry because they didn’t manage to get it done themselves with AI,” Carstens told NBC"
Oh this is hilarious...so after ditching a whole load of workforce, they are hiring freelancers to fix the AI mistakes? And often the redraw/remake takes longer than if they'd hired a creative in the first place?
I did tell you so...I spent a lot of time early Ai fixing text etc, it often was quicker to do it myself, or comp it from CC Zero images. That was after hours of trying to get it to do something....

Via @npub1f5n…2tcs which I boosted but there is much more in there...a discussion about the value of AI to people and why it's unpopular.
AI bros don't get this. when the previous disruptions happened - MP3s, YouTube etc there was some benefit for people...not always good as Nilay says about big trucks etc. But with AI the net positives don't outweigh the negatives - people aren't stupid.
They can see this - the unemployment, creative industries laying people off but creating a less good product, environmental costs, launching servers into space (!!) making Kessler syndrome a distinct possibility, the issues with artists and creatives not getting paid, deepfakes, chatbots telling people to kill themselves or commit atrocities...the likelihood of a massive recession when the bubble bursts...the social/economic negatives are endless.
This is offset by a fancy search engine and jumped up autocorrect and Ghibli profile pics.
It's not even close.
