"Just last week I went for a pre-assessment for a routine knee operation and was told that I would not be on the women’s ward – I would need a separate room. I can only assume this is related to the recent legislation, and it was strange and uncomfortable to realise that my experience of the healthcare system felt more inclusive and safe during the 1960s than it does in 2026."

It is crazy that in the big bad 60's and 70's trans women could just be, and although as she says tolerated, it's gone backwards
