My 2013 MacBook Pro was stuck at Catalina and starting to refuse software like Signal.
Ubuntu Linux brought it back to life and promises ten more years of usefulness before it's e-junk. Plus it’s refreshed my love of tinkering and coding my own stuff. Linux has had its frustrations and annoyances, but no more than any other OS.

Yesterday, I managed a first short cycle out of town since landing in emerg a few weeks ago. I can't sit or walk without debilitating pain, but the bike is tolerable, some weight on the arms, spine gently curved, seat lowered for stand-only—I have a tube in my belly at present to prevent hydronephrosis.
Except I got a Selle SMP saddle with fat gel pads and a wide centre gap that makes normal cycling possible again.

Indeed.
The hypocrisy and the assumption of general stupidity out there.
I do believe most people get it.
But I think of my own career pre-retirement. I'd likely have been fired or sidelined for speaking out as I do now.
I did then on Crackmayor Rob Ford and much other nonsense, but here the state has asserted its power, and it is not to be trifled with by those with families to support.
They have successfully muzzled where they've not been able to corrupt.

It remains astonishing that Israel and its IDF—after all the slaughter and destruction, now morphing into forced desiccation and starvation—still pretend to be frightened rabbits ('pussies' some would call them) before the bogeyman of 'Hamas.'
How is possible the smartest people on earth, with billions upon US billions in money and weaponry pouring in, haven't yet put down a ragtag rebellion from a bunch of dirt poor fenced-in prisoners?

I'm about to watch S1E2 and have been wondering: is this exploitative TV? Or do the subjects appreciate what's funny, touching, etc.?
Wonder if that comes up anywhere along the way? I want to watch more. I can relate to much of the halting emotional gaps and bursts...

Much of the world appears to approve of Israel’s IDF mass-murdering Gazans in the name of Judaism—or at least not to give a damn.
Apart from the obscene carnage inflicted upon civilians already cut off from aid, how unfortunate as well for those Israeli Jews and Jews of the diaspora who have managed to retain their humanity and who continue to stand against the US-enabled and US-funded barbarism of the current Netanyahu administration.

I’ve wondered lately if Harris’s run was fully ‘consensual’ or did Biden pressure her into it & announce so rapidly to prevent the Dem estab. from having a proper say after insisting he step aside.
Harris seemed relieved to have lost.
