Sorry, this is one of the many “easy” casseroles that I absolutely hate. Let’s cook the sauce for an hour, cook the veggies for 20 minutes, boil the noodles for 10 minutes and then throw everything into a dish in the oven for 30-40 minutes.
If I have cooked everything, why not just put noodles on a plate, top with veggies, cover with sauce and serve? You’ve spent an hour in the kitchen already, be done already!

I am not an historian but used to remodel several properties each year. East Wing was first opened in 1902 and expanded in 1942. From those dates alone I would expect lead pipes, lead paint, cloth-wrapped wiring, and rock wool asbestos insulation. Might have horse hair and asbestos plaster work too. I thought it was remodeled around JFK, maybe some of the bad was cleaned out.

Because I am a geek about things, I had to go looking for hands:
A horse measurement that can’t be split exactly into whole numbers (63” divided by 4 is 15.75 hands) use a decimal place to represent the extra length that isn’t divisible:
0.25 = 0.1
0.5 = 0.2
0.75 = 0.3
