Looks like we're staying 'south of the commons'. But planning to spend a lot of time at the Fine Art Museum.

I'm going to be in Boston for a couple days. What should I see while I'm there?
Also, are there any really good food spots that also have outdoor seating?

I think enough time has passed, that I can finally share what I made 'from garbage data" in public!
I miss working on projects like this, and having to not share them reduces my chances of being hired to work with data like this...ugh.
Anyway, when most of my work is about finding and sharing patterns....this project was all about helping folks see how chaotic an existing system is: https://www.patreon.com/posts/102234094

I've got this crazy idea to create a zine or series of zines around my daily drawings. And that can only happen if I scan them. Which takes a lot of time.

Thank you! I had a fairly low-effort day, mostly scanning images and file management....so it's fine that I wasn't fully rested.

It was hot out in the sun today, so I got tired quickly. Still, it was great to make so many people happy at the protest. A couple with unicorn suits saw me just as I saw them, and we all laughed an ran to each other and 'hugged' briefly. It was so happy.
On the way out, I saw this ballot box and thought it was a perfect photo op for my axolotl self.
Exhausted but happier now.

I've been doing these daily #inkyDays drawings for a long time. Currently in my 9th year, of drawing every day and sharing it online.
I keep thinking that I should do something special for getting to 10 years. So, I've started scanning all of them. Yeah, it's gonna take me a long time.
But today, I scanned my very first version of my 'comforting floral' pattern. Back in 2018.

Happy Valentines day! Here's a simple red floral for today's #inkyDays drawing.
I also worked on some Batleth wielding penguins, on watercolor paper. They need more space when they've got the Batleths, so I'll have to work on that. But I'm enjoying drawing them. They're still cute, but more dangerous.

It's Friday the 13th, so be careful of the Batleths in your network. Here's a messy network with Batleths as the edges for today's #inkyDays drawing.
By the way, I put most of my art on my Patreon and Ko-fi, to reduce how much of it gets scraped. All of my supporters, at all levels, get to see my works there:

For communicating locally, here in San Francisco, I want to be better at fluent Spanish.
Globally? I'd like to be better speaking and reading French.
Once I get better at those, I'd like to explore Germanic languages.
I would love to learn Navajo! Or any NM Pueblo language. I am humbled by the brilliance. I don't think I am capable. I wish I was. But I can dream to be.

I don't quite know what to say to someone who is deep in an AI bubble.
My life has been all struggle and learning and building.
To sit next to someone who says " you tell claude what kind of app you want and it build's it for you". This someone has never written code, or knows what a data structure is, let alone when one might work better than another.
And she is making money from this crap.
UGh.!
If only I didn't have ethics or my brain. I could be super rich, if I just turned off.

I used to have some solid Medical Latin. Which helped me when ordering dinner in France and Italy.
But it's not enough. I need to think in another language. More languages.
I might seem to old to do such a thing, but I must learn to think in at least one other language. If I can do one, maybe I can do another?

2026-02-09 07:59:32 UTC

What are the tools out there for actually learning and practicing languages? I studied French for years, but I am still terrible at it.
I also had some Spanish formal learning, very briefly. I've lived all of my life around folks who spoke Spanish first.
The only reason why I can't speak Spanish as fluently as I speak English? The racism of our grandparents and parents.

As a woman, it took a lot to be included as one of the New Masters of Flash. I had to be extraordinary. I had to lean into creating Science Visualizations. Combining drawing with code.
And Amazon didn't list me as a co-author. It listed all of the other 10+ male co-authors, but specifically dropped my name and another co-author. Why? Because even back then, they said that tech-books with women's names don't sell as well.
So, I was erased.
Now, Adobe erases Flash/Animate.

5. As a Cancer patient, I regularly spend time in a Cancer hospital. A lot of the people there, many of them small children, are in a more precarious stage of their Cancer treatment.

Playing with a new ink in today's #inkyDays drawing. It looks mossy green when wet, and dries with a copper shimmer. I thought it would be perfect for a spiral of ants. I even did one on watercolor paper. Loving this ink.

Going with a comforting floral pattern for today's #inkyDays drawing.
The orange penguins finished drying, and are certainly growing on me. They look good next to the blue ones.

Genuary 2026 Day 17: "Wallpaper group"
I definitely want to come back to this one, and explore more. Wallpaper 'tiling' also works great for textiles.

Going with some peaceful little fish for today's #inkyDays drawing.
I also experimented with drawing some orange penguins. Not sure what I think of that yet. Ha! That orange ink is so intense.

Genuary 2026 Day 16: "Order and disorder."
I had fun with this one. Yeah, I have fun with all of them, but this one gave me a little extra joy. At each "generation" I added a little more noise.

Ok, so yes, my Cancer Tumor is gone. I got lucky, that at the time I had my diagnosis for stage 3 colon cancer my case was border line. I did not go through Chemo. There were new tests that could test for any sign that my tumor had metastisized and spread to other organs. I still get these, and other blood tests and CT scans. Still.
And I'm still working to regain by physical strength, after having been starved by that tumor for years.
I'm still fighting and working to be stronger.

Some angular ants for today's #inkyDays drawing. I also finished my first piece on watercolor paper of 2026.

Genuary 2026 Day 15: "Create an invisible object where only the shadows can be seen."
This one didn't turn out as I initially intended. But partway through working on it, it really wanted to go in this direction.

Oh great! More messing with the USPS. Not sure how bad this might turn out, but it doesn't look good.
Here's what the shipping company I use for me shop sent:
"Starting in February, USPS Post Offices will begin auditing packages more strictly for payment before accepting them. As part of this change, USPS representatives will be more diligent about confirming that postage payment has been fully processed at the time of drop-off."

Genuray 2026 Day 14: "Everything fits perfectly."
While working on this one, I started experimenting with creating an SVG from one of my hand drawn patterns. It's been a long time since I've done that. Ha!
