Making worse software in the name of user-friendliness. Also the author of the blog is now moving on from IMs in Wayland after more than 6 years of working on them: http://dorotac.eu/posts/im-finished/
The end result is multiple protocols, spread over multiple compositor implementations, that aren't all compatible with each other.
Compared to XIM, which took probably a year or two to make and with all of it's also known issues. But at least it's one standard, one protocol, you can use and it will mostly work.

At least the XMODIFIERS env seems to be gone and a program can ask the compositor to be the IM instead of X11 going down the path of looking at an env variable and doing nothing when the IM in the env isn't actually available.

`muting_expires_at` doesn't even make grammatical sense in my head. At this point MAEPs, or how you called them, are becoming a possibly needed thing in the future. If they would listen that is. Because for a long time whenever Mastodon decided to extend their API, they've done it in stupid ways.

They yanked the getgle.org domain after someone reported the favicon for being CP. They also dropped cum.salon for doxing reasons after pernia made the PaulaToThePeople account clone. Other than that, I'm pretty much impartial to Porkbun. In my eyes, they are the Hetzner of domain registrars.

Didn't you already did that since federation works fine and has worked since mint showed you that part of the code? I haven't checked any objects yet with curl, but I remember it still returning 404 while the federation kept working.

There might be a way of dealing with this in the CLI. Either with the qm utility for VMs or with LVM/ZFS commands.
But make sure that the flags do exactly what you want. There's a lot of ways to shoot yourself when outside of the GUI.

Try booting up a recent live cd with nouveau disabled, using the integrated GPU and see if the problem is the same. It doesn't seem like a memory issue as that would crash apps regularly, or panic the kernel. And the temps seem fine.
modprobe.blacklist=nouveau nouveau.modeset=0 in kernel command line.

Grab a 5 year old version of glibc and try to compile it on a modern toolchain. Spoiler alert: it will very likely fail, because the compiler is too new.

The syscall ABI does not matter when glibc breaks ABI on almost every minor release. If you grab a compiled version of Firefox from 5 years ago and fix all the dynamic link errors with symlinks to your own libraries, it very likely won't run. A Windows version would. And also Linux ABI has changed, mainly when it comes to PCI calls. There was even a compatibility header for those changes that was removed somewhat recently.

Instead of changing the current API, they leave the old one in and create new calls that don't disrupt the old ones. A php mysql_real_escape_string basically. Something that is almost non-existent in the Linux world.

Yes, you can have a functioning binary. After many hours and sometimes days of fixing errors that is. I've done this myself to GCC and binutils when I was compiling the last version of them with Solaris 7 support. It's not trivial and prone to breaking if you don't fully understand the codebase.

With the Win11 specs requirement and bypassing there's a potential danger of updates breaking a system when they are compiled with the new CPUs in mind. And since running below the minimum specs isn't supported it's a nice "feature" for MS to force even more people to buy new HW.
