The takes about 2024 that I agree with or that validate my priors are also bullshit.
#Trump won on disinformation validated by horserace journalism that treats facts as points of controversy.
He won on an imaginary depression, an imaginary crime wave and imaginary hordes of undocumented immigrants pouring over the border.
It wasn't Gaza or Dems using pronouns or refusing to say "illegal aliens" or Harris reaching out to Republicans or any of the rest.

There was not one but two pro-Hitler Jewish groups, the Association of German National Jews and the German Vanguard.
They were right-wingers who thought the antisemitism was just talk intended to rile up the masses against communism.
Most of their members later perished in concentration camps.
I’ll add that there’s no link to any poll in the post and the author appears to be talking about Hasidic Jews.

Almost all of the small number of cases of actual voter fraud are perpetrated by right-wingers who've drunk the kool aid and believe that they're just fighting fire with fire and also that they'll get away with it easily like Dems supposedly do.

Millions of people who live in the RW media bubble have been led to believe that #Trump, who’s trailing in the polls and has never won a popular vote in any competitive race, is cruising toward an easy victory by a big margin.
Regardless of the winner, this won’t end well. There were hundreds of hate crimes by perpetrators invoking Trump’s name after he won ‘16.

Biden beat Trump after leading by wide margins the whole cycle and they rampaged. If Harris wins this "toss-up race" by 4 or 5 points, it'll likely be a lot worse. fin/

Secondly, we always say you should ignore individual polls and focus on the averages, and there's just been an explosion of partisan GOP polls since the frenzy over Nate Silver in 2016.
Important to note that they aren't all junk polls, but even good partisan polls tend to have a house effect.
The averages compensate for these house effects to varying degrees but they work their way into what we're told the race is looking like either directly or indirectly via the punditry. 5/

First, generals always fight the last war and while the national polls (unlike swing-state polls) were very close in '16, they underestimated Trump's support by abt 4 pts in '20. It's been pretty clear that they've made an effort to avoid a repeat in '24.
Notably, about 1/2 of high-quality pollsters are weighting their samples according to respondents' self-reported vote in '20. This had been considered methodologically fringy, largely because people may not accurately report how they voted. 2/
