Thanks for the comments Benjamin Balder Bach (npub1vvj…puhp) what I take away from it is that the problem is not AI writing code, but the way it shifts workload, legal risk, and collaborative responsibility onto maintainers, breaking the social processes of Open Source.
With more and more examples like this, also for projects like Django, we probably need to find shared technical or governance approaches to protect maintainers without blocking development or discouraging contributions.
How could we start doing this?
