They compressed a century’s worth of economic expansion into 30 years at the cost of heavy metals and toxic waste dumped onto farmland, landscape, aquifers and rivers.
There’s no way to clean it up. Most of the Chinese population has to eat food that sickens or kills them. They have not stopped as they exhaust their natural resources.
