I also think it's fair to say that some of those distro promises are less strong than used to be, as the surface area has increased dramatically over time, what does it even mean for a distro to "support" random Python libraries? Libraries too small for an official security reporting process so good luck noticing when there's sec fixes to backport. Or increasingly subjective xkcd://1172 "bugs”. I salute you for fighting that fight, but I'm not sure it has a future anymore.
