I have an Nvidia card and use it for gaming as much as anything. Supposedly Nvidia's working on a fix for the DX12 performance drain, but right now that's a dealbreaker. I'm not going to spend half a grand on swapping GPUs just to get something Linux-compatible, either.
What sucks is this is the same exact problem I ran into years ago when I gave Manjaro a test run on a laptop I had.
