The people I'm thinking of giving this to have no skills to maintain a Windows, Mac, or Linux system. A system thats preconfigured with everything they'd want and then just works for a few years and can be upgraded by bringing it back and asking to update it is just what they need... At most they need flatpak for updating the browser in between. They aren't gonna look under the hood so what's there doesn't much matter to them.
