I am not quite sure why people use a VPN service that doesnt do port forwarding. I guess the simple fact that the service accept #bitcoin is the only thing they are looking for.
I use port forwarding for everthing. My relays, my nodes, etc

This is basically where I am on it. I do care. I just have a career outside Nostr and don't have the time to fuck around with every new thing that's released somewhere (if I even see it). Things are usually poorly built and rarely work well enough to justify paying attention. Could be a self-fulfilling loop, but that's where I am.
I think the concept is awesome if it can actually be done securely and simply enough that I don't blow my own head off in the process.

I never thought of your service as being private anyway. Maybe I'm wrong on that, but it always seemed aimed at sharable media on Nostr. That's what it's best at for me anyway. I wouldn't find it as usuable for pure data storage. And that's not a bad thing.

There is one practical reason why different-size duplicates are not great. If an image is scanned by AI for moderation, it’s a redo of work and extra costs. No perceptual deduplication implemented yet
