Yeah I agree, I was mostly ironic but absolutely concord with you about cultures and that's why I said they went too far, like literally expanding the empire too much.
In the the British Empire did the same, and suffered the same consequences in a way because they "went too far".. of course also in that case wasn't the only cause but a big part of it. And too many cultures is a direct consequence of that and a important reasoning of culture collapse.

There's a bit more to it than that. Culture is the glue that holds any great civilization together and when you continuously import people who don't share that culture you dilute the culture until there is no longer a shared value set that everyone is operating on and the civilization collapses.
