The German speaking community is highly decentralized however a common branding is "Einundzwanzig" ("Twentyone").
They developed this Nostr based app

which helps to find and organize a local meetup.
Among other things it solves one particuar problem: In person P2P Bitcoin trades at a meetup. You build a reputation by visiting meetups and get cryptographic proof by others therefore generating a web of trust.
So it helps the community converging meetspace and cyberspace.

FIPs Drive!
This time we have a Wingman App (which I just got up and running with my Omarchy laptop earlier) fetching files from my macbook via FIPs.
- On macbook Macbook Wingman App allows you to share a folder
- The Flight Deck app will check which peers are online and what they share
- When you click into a shared folder it establishes a peer connection over a FIPs mesh and the app on Macbook lists files (whitelisted by npub)
- You select a file and it pulls it straight form the other computer via FIPs
No tailscale, no tunnels, no ssh, no DNS - just Nostr IDs.

I've been far more serious about this with the new flock upgrades sniffing for wireless device signals. If you live near one I'm sure it's sniffing us in our homes so i've removed everything wifi that I can and try only turning the phone on once and a while to check for missed calls or if I need it for something.
I think this is more doable with a voip line. You can transfer your cell number over to it and many offer SMS as an option, so you if you need to make or take traditional calls or SMS you can from other devices.
opensats takes applications any time on a rolling board review, and the scope they publish is bitcoin, nostr and adjacent freedom tech. mainline linux on a phone reads as that third one to me. he files it himself at opensats.org/apply. @nprofile…ej06
