Last Notes
I usually write a letter to give to them at the end of the semester. That way I can say all the nice things without the embarrassment of messing up verbal delivery. It gives you time to revise once you have a think on it and realize, oh that's too much, or whatever.
I have been on the receiving end of similar letters and it's always so nice to get. I keep them all and reread them when I feel down.

True, there is definitely art and science aspect to it! Especially if you are growing indoors you are basically playing god and have to control every variable. I like it keep it simple: Good living soil (compost), sunlight, simple nutrients, and minimal pruning to open up airflow and maximize yields. I grow it right along side the tomatoes and treat them almost exactly the same way. Always a bountiful harvest!
