If you commonly distro hop or try out various Linux distros, I highly encourage you to start using torrenting to do so. Why?
- It reduces the strain on the mirrors used to host the distro ISO file
- It decentralizes the acquisition of the distro, placing its distribution into the hands of the community (as it should be)
- It can have faster download speeds than mirror hosts because you're grabbing from many different sources rather than one server that could be bogged down
- Seeding the distro ISO to at least the 1.0 ratio after downloading ensures that you're contributing to a large network of peers so that if there were a crackdown on that distro, there's no way to truly eliminate the ability for others to download the distro ISO
People tend to only think of torrenting as a means of piracy but that does the technology a disservice. In reality, it's an incredible way of decentralizing software downloads, which is critical with the way things are going on with tech legislation right now.
Just make sure that you at least check your ISO against the checksum from the distro's site to ensure you got the ISO intact and untampered with.

Do I think what should? Do I think our interests should be represented? Yes. I don’t see the country aligning with Israel AT ALL, yet our representatives fully align with them. I don’t see Americans voting for pointless wars to transfer money to MIC and FIC but that’s what they are doing 24/7.
