Unfortunately they have different requirements, and Apple has strict policies, so we have to go with this approach.
are the background tracks necessary? i use an app called termius that keeps terminal sessions open in the background. theres a live activity widget and everything, but no sounds

I think it's important that nostr has censored clients and different teams make different choices. It's not a position I'd want to be in that's why I built wisp the opposite way where I can't control it and be absolved of it.
But I 100% support any developer running their clients however they want and whatever they think is best and let users choose what kind of ux they want. That includes censorship policies from pedos to assholes or whatever they want.
What I absolutely don't support is a bunch of cry babies who don't build anything themselves getting all this free software shitting allover people doing their best to build on nostr, it's so fucking brain dead

is primal doing something to get more people to run caching severs? a lot of people run relays but im not aware of other caching servers. without them people using primal have to switch to another client if they realize there are notes they cant see because theyve been filtered out by the default server.
not saying you should do this, but maybe startos and umbrel packages could help?

yes, more options are better, the idea that all nostr apps should have the same client server setup makes no sense to me

we have been trying to increase nostr user growth like everyone else and have been failing to be quite honest
user growth keeps trending down, retention is horrible, thousands of users have come and left because apps are broken
hopefully the trend reverses because nostr is needed now more than ever

Wisp uses the outbox model, not a caching server. Relays are definitely not my area of expertise, and the guy capable of explaining that better than me just wrecked his car and is taking a vacation this weekend, so don’t bother him today.
