Even the coolest software features will become normal and mundane with regular use. Even if 80% of your application is amazing, the 20% that's not becomes harder and harder to ignore.
If you start +80 and -20, you're at +60.
But as the +80 trends down, the -20 stays constant. After some time, the perceived quality of the app is taken over by that small slice of poorly implemented gestures, missing utility, and deep bugs that come from the very architecture and thought process of the app.
Focus on that 20% if you want to write software that survives. Unless you have a captive user base that you can simply abuse.
