Oh I don't really get triggered by this. When I was studying my geology degree many moons ago, I was fascinated by the vitriol I experienced when explaining the potential dangers of climate change. Was before it all got mainstream and shit. I was explaining to people that we need much more research but it's possible that using fossil fuels to the extent we were was a little counter productive. Now I point out the actual science to people to show it's not the case, I get vitriol from the other side. I find human nature rather fascinating. Detailed study and scientific method seems very secondary in terms of people's mental models
