Yeah, I used to do a bit more of them back in the day. Really messes up the old camera roll...even now mine is pretty messed up, and I don't really make that many. I kinda thing the whole meme-culture thing got coopted a bit by 3-letter agencies, but don't feel I should expound on my crazy theories further right now. But I'm right...I know it.
I spent way too many hours making memes. It was a good thing I dropped it, but I do miss the silliness.

I been using AI or Inshot (free app version) mostly. I could do better with something like photoshop, but who's got the time... and memes are played out, ever since Elon started dropping them right and left.

I've gotten a lot better about it. I just keep telling myself picking fights with their brainwashing would not benefit me at all, and they'd enjoy it because part of the brainwashing is to thrive on idiotic conflict. So I just keep my mouth shut and control my eyebrows and focus on my own efforts and let people who are aligned find me.

Yeah, we just looked up a recipe or two and yolo'd. Been dialing it to preference since. It's super duper easy, and if you were to buy this stuff in stores it would cost you like 8 bucks for what we can make for 2. It's crazy. Makes for way funner meals, and seems healthy too. 10/10 recommend. Fermenting, think kimchi, is on the radar for something to do soon. I think it's slightly more complicated, but probably still super easy.
The weird thing is that most of the “communities” around here are townhouses - everything looks like a huge wall of particle board at first, then a couple days later they transition into “townhouses” or “apartments” that are either light blue, gray, light tan, or white. Everything looks so similar!

This morning my coworking space the Innovation Hub hosted something called Creative Mornings. As they were setting up when I went into the office, they hyped it up and I said I'd attend. I love creativity and thought this would be a good social way to get some inspiration.
Imagine my surprise when instead of discussing creativity, the speakers were the exact same "underground" Facebook mutual aid group that had protested my Resiliency Salon earlier this year.
I was very amused that they read off a definition of mutual aid, which absolutely applies to my projects. So why was their big shouting point to me earlier this year about how we weren't doing mutual aid? It's almost as if they want to be the arbiters of truth in this matter and when someone isn't one of "them" they're automatically an enemy without any thought or consideration.
The amount of focus they put into how to have an "underground" event was really adorable. It's like they know there's a problem with surveillance, but can't grasp that they aren't solving it with traditional social media.
"You can't make public Facebook posts! For underground events, you have to rely on private Facebook messages and private WhatsApp group chats!"
I don't understand why they brought such antagonism to my group. Perhaps because I didn't spend the first 30 minutes of my talks apologizing for being a privileged white lady. I didn't say anything at their meeting, because I don't like to waste my energy being rude.
I do feel disappointed because I thought I was going to get some inspiration and instead I got bland legacy social media talking points by people who made me feel bad about my efforts because I don't subscribe to their politics.
Luckily a number of my Salon members were there and stopped by my office afterwards to catch up on mesh communication information and to tell me how much they appreciated my group being a politics free zone, so that was nice.

Damn, you're absolutely right! I'm teetering on being able to do this within my limits now that I have the max plan, but this sounds wise. I did use gpt not long ago to transcribe a slew of videos into transcripts, and then summarize the transcripts, and I saw in the CoT (chain of thinking; new fave term) that it was using some sort of template and summary script rather than digesting it all. Kind of didn't like that it did that without asking, but I guess my 20/mo sub wouldn't have allowed for full reading in of the text for 600 videos...

I'm learning as I go. Taking note. I've only got an hour before my limit resets, so am good for now, and will proceed with smaller files remainder of day. Am reluctant to change models mid-project, so don't see myself messing with that here, but next thing I do that involves large "corpuses" (I think that's the smart word for it), I'll see about this Gemini you speak of. For some reason, I have an aversion to it. It's all openAI or Anthropic hype, so I assume those are the best, but maybe I should reconsider, in particular for long article work, cuz I think that's specifically where gemini is supposed to shine (if I'm not mistaken). It's all so difficult to keep straight (hence why I like to gab about it so much with anyone willing to listen).
hm, converting a book to a wiki, you would probably be better off telling the LLM to write you a script that can do it, then run the script (vs. feeding it the whole book)..

That makes way more sense. Unfortunate, but makes sense. I did notice the pricing now too, I guess they focused so hard on data infra, tcp/ip is cheaper, more secure, and arguably more reliable., so they probably want to phase it out. There is a good chance I'm going to switch to a data-only SIM some point in the future, because my SIP provider has free sms and unlimited minutes in the US. None of which i really use, but I get it "own" my number instead of it being tied to a SIM or device. The data sims are going for like $20/mo vs the $75 or whatever legacy providers are charging these days.
