I found the issue, the events from that bridge is marked "Protected Event (NIP-70) and Nostria didn't allow repost/quote of those. This is more of a relay NIP than client, it has been fixed now and deployed.
Sorry for late fix, I had some other improvements to finish first.
I also noticed that one of your comments in this thread renders as JSON, I'll get that fixed too tomorrow.

Voice events should have voice replies, the reason you can reply with text here is because Derek embedded the voice event into a regular post.
The NIP doesn't say that text replies is "illegal", but it also doesn't specify that it should be supported either.

These frameworks are very problematic, relying on some "automatic magic" to move state from backend to frontend has never resulted in good result and has been redone many times in history.
"Oh you can just write one file and it will sometimes run in client and sometimes be able to query database"...

That's strange, got a link to event that doesn't work? It's probably one or more specific events.
I just reposted @nprofile…9qmh without a problem, the same repost and quote buttons work fine for Blusky (using @nprofile…6gd2) and Threads (using @nprofile…plk0) as well.
Though I think there is an ability to send replies back to those networks, right? I would love to add support for that as well.

I made a Gifs selector that relies on emoji sets, just needs to add "gifs" tag to it and it will be listed in @nprofile…m0xe. It doesn't need be hosted on media servers, but I added that option to quickly take the gifs off centralized mass-surveillance services.
This is the native Nostr way of doing gifs, everyone can create these and we collaborate together building awesome memes and gifs that everyone can use.
Try searching for "retard" using Primal and you'll see why it's bad to rely on these gifs services, which is tracking everyone globally and selling all our data.

I don't think so, WASM Modules is isolated, they can't access DOM and local resources, it's memory isolated and "secure by design". Run it in a Web Worker, and it's even more isolated. Mining Monero wouldn't work well either, since it has no network access.

No reason to activate WoT if you don't have any followers. It's for people who interact with others and it doesn't take much to get higher than 0 rating, which is really all you need. Anyone who posts good content will get followers.

Can we please turn off public listing on media servers and stop using that API for "Media" on profiles? It was a very bad idea to begin with and very bad that Nostr clients is still doing this. Nobody should be able to list other peoples list of media. Turn it off on your media servers and show picture/video events on Media tabs.
Whenever someone Shares a photo or video in a private message, some apps will show these to everyone on the network. Nostria have kept this private since beginning.

I grew up with Macintosh and loved it, PCs was so far behind back then. Then I went for a MacBook Pro a few years ago (I also used Mac a few times after MacOS 9), but the OS is just not good at all for power users - and there is so much "muscle memory" that fails using the Mac keyboards.

The chat doesn't have any relays defined, you can edit the chat using Nostria and set relays. This is important or else users won't have any specific place to send the chat events and just send to their account relays. You can set them same as your account relays, which is the default suggestion when you edit.

One feedback, please edit the chat and use your media server to host the channel image, because many networks (including my ISP) doesn't allow IPFS gateways to be accessible.
You can easily setup your media servers in Nostria and directly from the editing of a channel, you can upload the image you want.

The encoded music track he shared actually includes a bunch of relays hints, so it should be fairly easy for other Nostr clients to find it. I'm pushing others to implement at least basic playback support for music tracks, that's not too much work and everyone should be able to do that.

One thing that can work well on Nostr, is migrate event from old keys. Just re-sign all the events and publish. Some relays don't allow very old events though.

It's the app stores that will be killer for some apps. Will be interesting to see how the requirements will be and technically implemented in the OS/app levels. Like for example my app, it requires 18 years old to be used. It's a flag in the manifest for the app. Then it really should be up to the OS to collect age and enforce this.

The primary way I use all social media, Instagram, X, Facebook, is usually to share with my friends and family. Find something funny or cool, share in a DM. I think it's very much expected to have a great DM experience. Unfortunately some of the most used clients doesn't care about this and people is left without the receiver seeing the messages at all, like on Primal.
More and more of my DM communication happens on Nostr now.

There was a spam attack on DMs a few days ago, had to build a small inbox management feature to clear it out. Though that won't be fixed by having auth, as long as other's can deliver you DMs, you can get spammed. Also have Web of Trust filter built in for Messages.

It's not a requirement to do auth for DM inbox, but yes if you use auth on your DM relays it's needed.
@nprofile…dmep has partial auth support, it's not perfect yet. I'll setup my own auth-relay soon and make sure the support is rock solid.
It's possible to make a good UX for messages using NIP-17, though it requires a bit of work, trial and error and great deal of back massages.

It has Web of Trust filter on "Other" (non-following) messages, there is an inbox management to quickly clean up spam (there was recently a pretty big DM spam attack).
Rich rendering of events, videos, etc. and I've also made it quick and easy to share content you discover on Nostr in a DM.

I made a small compromise with the website, doing analytics there to get a little pin-point where traffic comes from.
Within the app, I've added some basic local metrics (stays on device), working on adding the ability to share that metrics with me.
Not having any logging is also liberating, I don't know how many uses @nprofile…dmep, I can see app installs on app stores, but no logging on the servers.

Did a bunch of improvements for RSS import:
- Parses the lightning splits and configures zap splits, you only need to assign which npub represents the person.
- Reads and sets genres and license.
- Creates album as well, not just tracks.
- Utilizes the RSS guid as identifier, making it possible to import the same feed twice without re-creating any album or tracks, will just update them.

The NIP on @nprofile…9kky's repo has some major issues:
1. It's made more for Wavlake with "r" instead of being Nostr native with "a" references.
2. Kind 1 should never be used as comments for anything other than kind 1, we should use kind 1111 (NIP-22) for track and playlist comments.
3. I like the idea of keeping a single event with liked tracks, right now Nostria retrieves actually liked tracks - only issue I have is the "d" tag is "liked-songs", should be "liked-tracks".
4. The query examples depend on "r" tags, should be "a" instead. Reactions should happen on the Nostr event, not some external URL.
5. Same applies to zapping, it should go to the "a" value, not "r".
I see that some Music apps applies zaps to event id ("e") and not addressable id ("a"), this is very bad since those zaps will disappear as soon as the author edits their tracks.
I'll probably copy the NIP and update it how Nostria implements the protocol, or perhaps Derek can update or take a PR to the repo?

I've been building @nprofile…m0xe for a year now, goal is to have both app and service provider that will allow Nostr to scale globally, and have feature set that improves the retention of users on Nostr.
It's slowly gaining some users, open-source of course and it's been deploying to production since day one and updated daily for almost a year.
The depth of features is beyond what I could have imagined and received so much good feedback from users.
I also built the foundation for an infrastructure that can help scale globally, but it will cost me more than I can afford. I was hoping it would be possible to have enough income to cover that cost but not sure anymore.
If you have not tried it yet, I would love to get your feedback on it. Most feedbacks I come across I fix and improve quickly. Available on all devices and screens.

I implemented support for kind 32123 (I'm removing it again), though I can only find 9 valid events with that kind on most relays, including the Wavlake relay (there are none of that event kind on Wavlake)
Looking at the repos in development at Wavlake, I can see these events used:
30440 — track metadata
30441 — album metadata
30442 — artist profile
30443 — music playlist
Wavlake is doing their own NIP for music, for the new platform/app: https://github.com/wavlake/NIPs
From what I can see in the mobile app repository (not updated anymore), it used kind 32123. Yet I can only find like 9 songs with that older kind. That can't be correct? Is Wavlake using Nostr in the existing app, or is it using a centralized database?
I could only find this amount of events for these kinds:
30440: 56 events
30441: 13 events
30442: 2 events
30443: 4 events
For 36784 there is at least 355 events already.
From my analysis, I believe maybe current Wavlake is a centralized database and not really using Nostr events for music metadata?
I can see @nprofile…lg5y is very actively developing on it, though he has not been on Nostr in a few months.
Maybe you could join in and share some comments? I see the NIPs you've written is not all that different from 36784 and 34139. Would you consider supporting those kinds for tracks and albums, and keep the others? It would be great for the larger community that we are as compatible as possible.

It's a yes, all the music listed on cove right now is 36787 events, same as Sunami and Nostria.

As I just shared a video, it can be turned into a pure Music app, just as it can be a pure Clips ("Vine") app. If you do the same I just did with Clips, it actually morphs the UI a lot more to become similar to Vine/TikTok.
I have since the beginning of making Nostria had the idea of "modes", because I plan on adding some great community features and when in this mode, it would change the main menu structure to be more like Discord/Slack, etc.
Could maybe add this "modes" selection to make onboarding easier for new people, because there is a lot of features already. I try my best to not "enable" (show) everything by default, but that needs to improve. Features should be revealed more as users learn more.

Hopefully should not happen again! I did earlier have an idea of export and import, so you could have same feeds on different accounts. Maybe do that as a means for potential back for people who have many custom feeds?

I'm so sorry you experienced this! I have done many different improvements now to custom feeds, how it loads and restores. It should instantly update across devices correctly now.
Upon app startup, it should also work better.
