I'm curious about what is required to activate picket lines outside of Apple stores everywhere.

Heck, I even use them when I vacuum.
Sure, it has a HEPA filter, but it also kicks up a lot of dust that goes into the air.

Someone told me a grandparent would rub a raw potato over a skillet to make it non-stick, rather than using butter. They would then cook pancakes. Anyone else heard of this before or actually do that?

Everyone starts somewhere. Just be careful the antenna does not get knocked off while the radio has power, because then you'll have a fried radio. Ask me how I know..😂

Got a #meshcore repeater on the air this morning. For now, it's simply taped to a south facing window. Antenna solar battery upgrades TBD. It's in #SantaBarbara, and getting repeater advert contacts as far away as San Diego

Sadly relevant- From: "On Tyranny – 20 Lessons from the 20th Century" by Timothy Snyder
6: Be wary of paramilitaries.
When the men with guns who have always claimed to
be against the system start wearing uniforms and
marching with torches and pictures of a leader, the end
is nigh. When the pro-leader paramilitary and the
official police and military intermingle, the end has
come.
7: Be reflective if you must be armed.
If you carry a weapon in public service, may God bless
you and keep you. But know that evils of the past
involved policemen and soldiers finding themselves,
one day, doing irregular things. Be ready to say no.

Historically for the US, the GOP gets us into a depression, and the Democrats get us out. Sure, it's a small sample size but yikes! #Trumpcession

I messaged both of my Senators and the Congressperson today.
The message - "RFK Jr. has been making decisions that create threats to the health of all - threats to public health.
Most of them have to do with vaccines.
He's a quack, to use the vernacular.
He's got to go.
Please use whatever tools are available to you when you have the opportunity to build pressure
that will force him out of our government."

FitnessFoundry has a Mastodon account, and might be interesting to look at. Does online training, if your previous trainer does not, and you think it might be worthwhile.

A Community Event Hosted by Santa Barbara Permaculture Network https://www.sbpermaculture.org/
https://www.sbpermaculture.org/events.html
Santa Barbara Permaculture Network celebrates its 5th Annual Eco Hero Award, a community event that honors those making significant, positive change in the world.
How we continue to build will affect the chances of survival for our grandchildren. Modern buildings are often toxic to both the builders & the inhabitants, with many becoming chemically sensitive to products used. Natural building, with materials like clay, straw, wood & stone are not only non-toxic, they are life enhancing, and if designed correctly, conserve heat & energy. Natural building has joined the modern age with beautiful and functional structures, that are also less likely to burn in wildfires.
Please join us for a very special evening with Bill, Athena & Roxanne in person, with time for conversation and questions about Natural Building. **What is it? Why did it become their passion & lifework**? How is it different from Green Building? What do they see as the future of natural building, especially for young people looking for a meaningful lifepath & career.
**Sunday, March 23, 6:30-9pm, 2025**
TICKETS $10, $20, & Friends of Eco Hero $100 (students & kids free)
**Location: Lobero Theatre**
33 E Canon Perdido St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101
**Tickets on Sale Now:** at Lobero Ticket Office https://www.lobero.org/events/eco-hero-award-2025/
