compiling versions 0.8.0 and 0.8.2 worked. :-y
I am currently getting an error when compiling the master branch:

i cannot add new followers in this version. i have tested this with a new profile.
GOSSIP_PROFILE=test.profile gossip
in the log gossip writes
INFO src/nip05.rs:121: Followed mike@mikedilger.com
INFO src/nip05.rs:149: Setup 8 relays for mike@mikedilger.com
but i do not see the pubkey in the "Followed" ui. not even when restarting gossip.

it should be configurable what kind of events should be kept longer. e.g. I would like to keep my own events (especially direct conversations) locally forever.
Currently I don't see any DM's older than 30 days.

Older "My notes" disappear after some time. But I can find them again if I look for them. I can't find a setting (feed, replies chunk) on how to affect this. I would like to be able to set how many "My Notes" I can see in the past.
