I believe he says he is surrendering “through a sheriff friend in a few moments.” The police waited on the “sheriff friend” (a neighbor) before they took him to booking. I’m not saying something isn’t potentially off with this whole thing, but as an attorney (and hopefully just as a human), facts and timelines do matter.

The Stormlight Archive series is not for everyone (lots of viewpoint characters and things going on and it only grows as the books go on) but I would recommend giving it another chance. Don’t know how far you made it but once Kaladin and the bridge crew get into their groove it really picks up. The Way of Kings is probably my favorite single Sanderson book (Warbreaker is a close second - Nightblood might be my favorite “character” in the Cosmere). That said, Mistborn is my favorite series (all 7 books are great - the ending of Hero of Ages is amazing) by Sanderson. Also, if you are interested in writing sci-fi/fantasy, Sanderson’s lectures on writing are a free podcast series.

Most common gyroscopes lack the sensitivity to measure Earth's slow rotation. The Earth rotates at only 15 degrees per hour, which is too slow for inexpensive mechanical gyroscopes to detect due to
static friction in the bearings that masks the subtle rotation, imperfect balancing that creates drift and noise, internal mechanical limitations that prevent precise measurements
This doesn't mean the Earth isn't rotating - it means the instrument isn't sensitive enough to measure it.
Many aviation and navigation gyroscopes are deliberately adjusted to account for Earth's rotation. Technicians pre-set the drift to perfectly counter Earth's rotation for the pilot's specific latitude and calibrate the instrument so it appears stationary relative to the ground.
This pre-compensation can create the false impression that the gyroscope isn't detecting Earth's rotation, when it's actually been adjusted to cancel it out.

As I understand it Maple is a private way to access different open source LLMs. Their site says the following are available to use on their pro plan:
DeepSeek R1 0528 671B
OpenAI GPT-OSS 120B
Gemma 3 27B
Mistral Small 3.1 24B
Qwen 2.5 72B
Qwen3 Coder 480B
So the question should be how do these LLMs compare to Claude.
I tend to use Claude Sonnet 4 the most out of all the LLMs available in @npub1xsg…zazx Assistant (a lot more LLMs available but more “trust me, bro” privacy than Maple’s privacy model)
