How much practice took place between these two paintings?
The answer is simple: one Inktober!
In 2024, having started with watercolors only a month earlier, I decided to take part in Inktober with some friends.
I set myself a constraint: I would only create monochrome watercolor pieces, and I wouldn’t reuse any of the paint from my pans.
I drew the same sketch—a titmouse—twice, painting one version just before Inktober and the other just after. By removing color theory from the process, I was able to get a feel for how water behaves and to explore each individual pigment in my palette.

Thank you so much! Really glad that piece caught your eye among the feed! It’s a very personal, symbolic piece for me.
Did that scene evoke any specific story or feeling for you when you saw it?
And thanks for the warm welcome! 🙏

I don’t think I’m sophisticated 😬
I'm just constitutionally incapable of not doing way too much 🫣
Custom amnesic OS, physical dice, watch-only and air-gapped setup... all that to protect 40 bucks 😂
But in the end, I gained way more than 50k sats: I earned new knowledge, understanding, and skills 🤓
I think people are capable of it, but many won’t dare to learn or even give it a try.

Thanks a lot!
That watercolor came after 9 months of rigorous daily art practice. With your mixed media background, you already have a fantastic foundation for watercolor — it’s going to be a fun transition for you!
I'll definitely share my rapid-learning method here soon for fellow artists.
Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely take the time to go check out #artstr! ☕

I really like your color wheels, they are original and visually pleasing to look at! I’m curious about the logic and color theory used to create them 🤓

Hello Nostr community! 👋 / Version française plus bas 🇫🇷
Quiet observer until now, I'm taking the leap: my NIP-05 is validated on my domain! 🥳 (Celebrated with a proper double cappuccino, of course ☕).
I'm a mom, introverted, and a jack-of-all-trades, fueled by caffeine: shifting easily from coding to music (instruments & singing), from Linux/VM admin to gaming, and from running a Lightning node to visual arts. Attached is one of my watercolors from a past creative wave 🎨
⚡ Current focus: Bitcoin & Lightning infrastructure. My node's direct address (`coffee@evalexa.fr`) doesn't handle Nostr Zaps (NIP-57) or memos yet, so I'm using a temporary Speed address while I work on my next challenge: making my address 100% Zap-ready! (I'm going to need a lot of coffee for this ☕⚡)
📌 A quick heads-up: I'm the opposite of a daily influencer. Wild by nature, you won't get spammed by following me!
If this mix of code, art, music, gaming and coffee speaks to you, say hi in the comments! 👇

🇫🇷 VERSION FRANÇAISE 🇫🇷
Bonjour la communauté Nostr ! 👋

Very interesting content, and it comes at exactly the right time, as I’m in the middle of thinking about how to pass this legacy on to my daughter—and especially when. I still have time to think about it, but I really appreciated spending this time with you reflecting on the future and on the very principle of intergenerational transmission.
