I had forgotten about this cool fact:
In Mexico, there’s a community who invented their own coin called the Túmin as an attempt to fight inflation.
It was created by the people to support merchants and vendors.
Each Tumin is backed by a product or service.
Then the central bank tried to sue them (no surprises there), but it failed.
It’s still being used to this day.
They should use #bitcoin and/or #monero too, IMO.

Test number 2 completed: P2P purchase using Haveno RetoSwap, this time was crypto-to-crypto rather than fiat-to-crypto.
It took around 25-30 min for the whole process (start to end), and there wasn’t any interaction with the seller, everything was automated and it went smoothly.
It takes all that time because it needs to wait for the 10 confirmations to complete, then you can send the payment.
In contrast, the fiat-to-crypto exchange took around 1.5hrs, mainly because it was a Cardless Cash payment and messaged with the seller. I think.
A “low time preference” mentality is key to have patience and go through the whole process. (BTC-LN swaps have spoiled me).

Finally the “Dungeon Crawler Carl” audiobook is available in NEUTRAL spanish!
context: dubbing from Spain is different from the Latin American one. WAY different.
The accent and the way each one translates the source material, from the spanish listener perspective, makes the difference.
I like the one from México best because it’s more “neutral” , in audiobooks, movies, tv shows and even video games.

It took around 1.5-2 hrs.
Had to wait for all the trade and funding confirmations to go through, then send the fiat payment to the seller and wait for him to release the funds once he had the money.
Not gonna lie, I was a bit anxious because he could’ve just taken the money but he was a solid seller.

It was great, the realization that with P2P you get better rates and privacy than with regular exchanges. Plus, you get to interact with actual people (bitcoiners).
There was a bit of social anxiety because of the rating system but that’s part of the experience.
Maybe in 10 minutes I had shared thoughts with the seller, paid and received my SATS with no problem 5 ⭐️

I’ve been running alby hub myself, to manage my lighting stuff and connect the wallet to nostr.
But goddamn I hate it when channels force close automatically after I reboot the node a few times due to updates or other problems.
Just last week, the only channel I had left force closed the very first day of the bitcoin conference.
Luckily, I had other wallets with enough funds to buy stuff at the bazaar 🙂

According to this, Solo mining with 4.86 TH/s is extremely unlikely to earn a block reward. (using a couple Apollo miners from FutureBit).
The odds are so low that it would take over 1,500 years (statistically) to find a block.
Pool mining is a much more practical approach for smaller miners, as you contribute your hashpower to a pool and earn proportional rewards based on the work your miner performs.

- Uploading a screenshot from the AVP says “Error uploading image :(“. Media type error?
- Can’t scan QR code. (App crashes)

Otium = leisure
Negotium = not-otium, busy-ness.
When money is involved, it’s not otium anymore, it becomes negotium (business)
In spanish makes more sense:
“ocio” tiempo libre
