When Canadian Conservatives talk about de-funding the CBC it is exactly the same reasons Trump went after CPB. Fascism is scared of critics, is scared of analysis, is scared of exposing the reality of their brutality and cruelty.

I have a theory that Canada's obsession with shipping raw oil, just like we ship raw grains and pulses and wood simply comes from the fact we never got past being a British colony.
The ideas of independence through self-sufficient upgrading and value add is something that the crowns never wanted, the value was for them, not for us and frankly we never learned.

Was at a local energy/electric event this weekend. Poked around in several electric cars and sure they are nice but did anyone engage actual industrial designers at all? No affordances, no knobs, buttons, etc. Just little graphics you need to look over at a central mounted tablet to use. Deal breaker for me. Wanting knobs and buttons and sliders don't make me an old, just someone that likes to look at the road while I change the temperature.
