The first Royal Albatross returnee has been spotted at the Otago Harbour Headland!
YRK has returned to the breeding grounds, and to celebrate the start of the new season church bells around Dunedin and beyond will ring out on Tuesday 24th September at 1pm.
Sadly, her bonded mate OGK went missing in June 2022. Hopefully she can find herself a new mate when other albatross return over the next month.

My new bank card arrived this morning. Guess what I've been doing since then, changing my card details all over the internet 😭
And every single place I need to change stuff, they make the process that much worse by making me change passwords, or changing things in their system so I need to start a new account elsewhere and change my password too 😩

Heads up Dunedin allergic asthmatics. Metservice is predicting a moderate risk of thunderstorms this afternoon.
Combined with pine pollen being released at the moment, it could trigger thunderstorm asthma as pine pollen is broken up into smaller pieces 😬

In case of trees, I don't buy from a certain place, I go and visit stores and choose the tree that is the healthiest, with strong growth, and has a growth pattern you're happiest with.
In terms of citrus, I always pick a plant that is flowering, or has flowers on it.
I would just go and see what they have in stock and pick the best of the variety you want.

Delta are outside our house planting the replacement trees for the birch tree.
They're both fruit trees, one is a nectarine, and one is an apricot 🤩
I talked with the worker, and she's asked for me to water them for her when they need it.

There's also alder catkins, hazel catkins, cypress trees and yellow wattle right now according to Metservice 😭
My asthma has been a little noticeable the last couple of days. Sigh.

I don't spray roses after pruning. I just make sure to pick up all the dead leaves etc around the base.
We have local Tauhou in spring that regularly eat any aphids on the roses, so I don't need to worry about them. In autumn I do get some fungal problems on the roses, so I use Yates Nature's Way Fungal spray if it gets super bad.
