Ubuntu Snap is crap. Nothing installed via snap ever works correctly. Endless permission errors. I'm now even getting snap errors on the fundamental python libraries.
I want a global setting called "Don't Use Snap".
*sigh* maybe it's time I test a different distro.

Somehow, the primary shop in my game has the code level name as MiniShop, despite having 5 sub-screens. There's another upgrade-shop, but it's actually smaller.
I debate whether it's worthwhile changing code symbols as the meaning in the game solidifies. I do find myself talking about things that players have no idea about, since I use the wrong name.

I guess I'm not fully understanding what #nullable does then, since it clearly does not mean things can't be null, at least not in all contexts.
I did use `where T: notnull` now and the error also goes away. But in my mind, that should be the default when #nullable is enabled.

And then it also breaks generic functions, since the nullability doesn't match. For example, another function I have to declare as non-null as well:

But yes, nonetheless, declaring it nonnull does fix the problem.
`class Something<T> where T : notnull`
But I still don't understand why. It seems to go against what `#nullable enable` means.

But I have `#nullable enable` on the file, implying all references are non-null unless declared otherwise, like `T?`.
Also, if I mark source as `T? source` then I get errors in my code, implying that it isn't actually nullable, except in this circumstance.

Got the temperature gauge working. This isn't really animated in the game, as the temperature doesn't change that often. But I'll find some way to over-animate the small increments when it does.
This is a combination of a graphic mask and relatively simple shader. I got tripped up since I forgot `static` on the `cosnt` keywords in my shader, thus nothing was working as expecting for a while.

We're simplifying the map graphics, so there's not too much going as with the bigger pipes from before.
I'll add back in decorations, but need to to get the colors tone down a bit first.

I need to change the event stack model in my game. My current one isn't letting me put enough hooks in place, thus would stunt the available tube/stick/chip effects.
It is however quite a challenge. I need to somehow merge a coroutine stepping system into a discrete event based system. It feels like the steppers are drawn-out events of some kind.
Screenshot is of the map... where certain events need to take place that can't right now (though mostly I'm diverting since the graphics aren't done here yet).

It's hard to divorce the state model of a game piece from the animation. The duration of an animation can block a state transition until the animation is complete.
This is quite different from typical app programming where animations are virtually irrelevant in terms of data state.
I still do state-based for my game, but I either need to have the state be aware of transmission times (fragile), or have the render layer be able to lock a piece (invasive).
I suppose this isn't an issue for physics based games, where the underlying animation state is a part of the true physics state. So this may only be a problem for "faked" systems like the machine in my game.

It's annoying when the thematic word for an item changes from the code word. I had "gears" in my game, but they've been replaced with "vaccuum tubes" instead. I keep confusing the illustrators when I refer to gears.
I never know when is the right time, if ever, to change the terminology in the code.

I'm starting to think the reason rougelikes have custom game runs is just so the developer can test the various items and combinations. I'll likley need the same thing in my new game.
I might just use a YAML file... though not as fun...

I'm making good progress on the new graphics for my upcoming game. Chips, tubs, and font simply not done yet. Then there'll be many deatils to fix as I get the animations in place.

Making progress on the conversion. It shouldn't be hard to tell which parts aren't done yet.
Alas, I don't have all the graphics yet, so it might be a while before I can post the final screen. The most critical part, the center isn't done, nor are the chips themselves.

It feels like a sprite PPU of 240 and a camera size of 4.5 make sense in Unity. This matches the 4K resolution, given 16x9 units over the screen.
Now, if only Unity had a way to register this notion globally so I don't have to keep retyping these values on all cameras, canvases, and sprites...
