#littleFedi looks interesting but I find the lack of source extremely suspicious. The site says the code is not AI-generated, but the site text smells of bot to me. Like the about page, https://littlefedi.org/about.html

A #Linux distro should not comply in advance. It would be better to block downloads to deranged nanny state jurisdictions, than compromise security and privacy for everyone else on the planet.
Blocking downloads is a lawful way to handle this. It sends the right message, to those who could complain to their representatives to repeal the stupid laws.

@nprofile…46cg @nprofile…vx8p Solid choice, app_message could function like a lower-level udp datagram protocol. When I started distrans, I think the return private route wasn't available, but now it might give that, and yield better throughput over app_call. Both app_call and I think app_message are capped at 32k data, so you'll have to implement some kind of fragmentation into packets.

@nprofile…46cg @nprofile…vx8p Similar but different! It looks like you're building something like http-over-veilid, where distrans is (well, aspirationally... it's getting there) more like bittorrent. Even there, there is room for different approaches.
All have their uses! There's tons of things built on http that can then run over veilid if you pull this off. The challenge is building a persistent notion of connectivity over route changes and dealing with the eventually consistent routing information you'll get over dht.

Finally got around to trying #Codeberg. They didn't force me to provide a credit card and they do sha256!
Testing the waters with my latest project, an #OCapN implementation in #Rust. I'll share it when it kinda does something but I already have that #Spritely syrup format implemented.
