There is an advantage to scale. Big mints are much better. That's why everyone uses WoS it's so efficient. There will equivalent of WoS size mint that will end badly. Small mints end up no better than just paying by lightning directly. Maybe like if you have a family you have one channel instead of five but at that point ecash might be disadvantage because of eg recovery after loss it might be better to be fully open and trusted

You need to look at it through the lens of flag theory, Thailand is useful for residence because it's cheap, people are nice and until they change taxes it's great territorial tax residency country. Apart from that there is no use for Thailand, they have capital controls, shitty banks, bad property rights for foreigners, it's a mess, the road and pedestrian safety is bad so might die in an accident. Don't bring money to Thailand, don't buy real estate, just rent as long as it works. Don't expect much. And they will most probably introduce world wide taxation in a few years, it seems inevitable. Then it will be just 179 days per year max.

It depends what kind of tax. If you pay rent from using land that's like the most legitimate thing that they own the land and you use it so you pay for it. But if they tax your ETF capital gains that you have made in different country from money that you have invested before you started living there then there is not much legitimate about it. Because the moving thing it's kind of cope of digital nomads. Many businesses farms, factories, mines can't be moved so the government can basically tax whatever but that doesn't make it legitimate.

Banks started as fully backed custodians of gold. The temptation to issue more unbacked claims is unstoppable.
