Low time preference breakfast.
Not some eggs cooked with a rubber spatula at 280 so the teflon doesn’t melt off.
Seasoned scrambled eggs with whole milk. Cast iron pan in the oven with broiler running full throttle. Crispy and melted cheese in the top. Garlic, onions and black beans sautéd in butter - at the bottom.
It will hold that heat for more than an hour- waiting for when the family is ready.
You can only make this if you seasoned and know how to handle a cast iron skillet. This is a low time presence breakfast.
It isn’t optimized for easy clean up. It is designed so that if you use it right clean up doesn’t even need soap.
What other tools allow you to have low time preference results?

If you want to make a difference around Bitcoin find a niche, a tribe that you belong to that doesn’t yet see the value of Bitcoin.
Bring it to truckers, HVAC guys, sports betters, bankers… all ideas spread through tribes.

About 10 years ago I went to the Aspen institute conference and saw Al Gore speaking about climate change, he was yelling and totally insane- the crowd loved it - cheering for him. It was like an evangelical service.
This was one of the red pills of my life, I knew without question that these people were worshiping Gia.

Loved the bonus episode! I come from Monsanto where these documentaries were used to terrify people about how their food is being grown. Just mentioning Monsanto is enough to prove my point, this type of narrative creation is extremely potent. I have much to say about this but I’ll leave it at: there is always a funder of these docs, some group that stands to win if their target loses.
A funny side note, when Monsanto wanted to hire me in 2014 HR put a red flag on me… because I had written articles in favor of Bitcoin, the “currency of criminals”

I had a colleague contact me yesterday who has fairly important audience saying “I agree the US shouldn’t go to war in Iran, it would be stolen valor, we didn’t earn the credit we’re going to get for toppling that terrible machine.”

I found the conversation with @npub1gdu…6nak and @npub1a2c…w83a to be frustrating. Lyn was directly challenging Saife’s position on how Tether will work as a straw in the dollar milkshake theory saying she didn’t think there were many bag holders left.
This is a fascinating point of divergence but it was not explored at any level of depth.

I’ve recorded hundreds of people telling their life stories, many people in their 80s, more than half from farms. This is my perspective of the way things used to be:
They were working at home. Gardening, canning, washing clothes, bookkeeping. They cooked and often ran side hustles like selling eggs or running boarding houses. It was full time work, with limited ability to control the finances of the family. They had a vital role in the family.
When commodity prices dropped women’s labor brought more value to the family leaving the farm to go to the city for administrative work. They quickly realized that they could attain higher levels of salary if they got an education.
They didn’t want to, they did it as a result of inflation. As the generations passed they didn’t know anything else.
I suspect full time moms have a serious meaning crisis after children are a certain age because most of their effort is chosen, rather than a necessity.
I live in a neighborhood with almost 100% stay at home moms - only the families with 5+ kids seem to not be on Prozac.

Drove with my kids, without my wife, to go see my parents. Brought along the camera gear to record their life stories. My dad is visibly nervous about doing this-
At 80 you did a lot, but there is certainly a concern that you may not remember everything.
I never realized, before a Legacy Interview you may see your parent apprehensive or even lash out. A chance to tell their life stories can be intimidating.
But before I go to bed, my parents were excited to tell me about the first car they remember riding in. Mom told stories of being on a family camping trip, stuck at a pavilion in the rain eating Dinty Moore Beef Stew off an electric skillet. The best meal she ever had.
I’m going to write up my experience.
