"this is what makes bedrock systems so interesting" has been non-stop-repeat in my mind since this.

yeah. now it's on me to decide if having the history of changes is meaningful to me or not. thanks ^_^

quick question @npub1z8r…mrq6 -- is cloning from https://github.com/XXIIVV/oscean/ the preferred way to have a local, offline mirror of xxiivv, or do you have a better suggestion?
edit: i'm thinking it's yes, because the main page links to a zip blob from this repository, but wanted to check.
thanks for all you have there ^_^

well, growing up without a dryer, when we had to dry something fast we would hang it on the radiator on the back of our fridge /shrugs

dang. i *really* like how all the tracks are unique yet the mixing --editing, really?-- brings one to the next, to the next... awesome.

yeah, you can kinda do that in python with an extra step, that, yeah, could beeeeee... matlab i think has the same mechanics, and now that i think about it, a lot of dynamic languages have the same 'extra-step' but i don't remember seeing ones that don't require that and yeah, that could indeed be interesting 🤔

even python goes "i return a tuple with the values you want". mechanically that's fine, but now i am wondering if that's a theoretical thing... what would multiple returns actually mean 🤔

hey @npub1z8r…mrq6 just wondering if you know about Roguelike Celebration at all?
https://mastodon.gamedev.place/@roguelike_con/115255013554824488
sorry, not sure how to phrase that better. i just never thought about it before, but it kinda clicked on my mind right now that there might be a whole lot off intersectional interests in there.

dang if all the research you do isn't a public service. i'm planning to tackle implementing a BASIC interpreter --maybe compiler-- later this year. this will help a lot :)

huh. it's been a while since i last had some peaberry.
my favourite roaster used to always carry a cuban one, but i had to switch to decaf and i stopped looking. now that i'm bringing the full caffeine beans slowly back, i could have a look again, thanks for the reminder.
:nostalgic: that cuban peaberry and a costa rican white honey where my favourites.

hey @npub1z8r…mrq6 , i feel like this is the kind of thing you are already well aware of, but i just saw it today and couldn't not share https://guix.gnu.org/en/blog/2023/the-full-source-bootstrap-building-from-source-all-the-way-down/

🤔 which of your uxn tools builds that? it got me really curious, enough for me to decide that studying how it works is my next "learning uxn" project.

i'm too terrified of large bodies of water to ever live on a boat, but reading your journey gives me hope about finding a gap in society where i can bring a quieter future to myself. although, having the guts to explore the gap will be hard.

huh. :surprised: tectonic looks neat, thanks for sharing, gonna take a look at it. have been frustated with LaTeX tooling for a long while now, had given up on it all.
also, i remember reading somewhere that the original TeX is a source worth reading. /thinking
my guess is that it makes it a program worthy of re-implementing to study. /shrugs
good luck with the book!
