That's interesting.
It's my understanding that many judicial appointments in the US are funded by the likes of Soros who also funds Antifa (but I might be wrong). That way if anything ever gets to court it will be processed with the lightest of touches.
So why do this now? I don't believe for a second that Soros's et al's influence is waning. Either this is complete fiction, or news to distract from something else, or this lot have been thrown under the bus for a reason we have yet to discover.

Recruitment is a perfect example of woke in action. Woke makes demands of organisations it infests, so the organisation can no longer do the job it was set up to do but must do woke instead.
So woke tells us that DEI is king. All work places must employ an exact replica of society. Quotas are essential. Any deviation from this is evidence of systemic -isms. Now organisations cannot consider qualifications, aptitude, merit, experience. It becomes a tick box exercise in Pokemon collection.
This is stupid in any line of work, but it is a monumental disaster for jobs like policing.
In an ideal world, policing should be an esteemed role. Only the very best of the best should even be considered. The job involves putting themselves on the line daily. Upholding the law without fear or favour. Having integrity. Respecting the people they serve. And the penalties for corruption should be severe, because of the dangers of loss of trust.
Now we have let's employ people who match our *special protected characteristics* above all else, so the likelihood of any of those employed being able to do the job even adequately is automatically diminished, because being qualified is no longer the primary factor in recruitment.
Every single day we see that those in charge of important things cannot do their jobs. Not even close. Heads really do need to roll.

I was in my local Asda with my parents a few months back. I mentioned to the cashier that I wasn't a fan of this tech. I didn't do it in a nasty way, because it's neither his fault or responsibility. During the check out, we put through some wine and my mum did her usual joke about him needing to see some ID to check she was old enough. The cashier then got a bit pissy and said *now you like digital ID?* or words to that effect. It's interesting how people conflate issues. I happen to agree with showing ID to protect minors from making some purchases. That's not the same as monitoring all of us to see that we're being good boys and girls.
I had a similar one in Lidl's. I was asked if I had a store card and I said my usual that I didn't because they're just spying apps to collect data. Again, I don't do it rudely because the cashiers are just doing their job. A chap in the queue behind me shouted at me that the government knows what we're doing all the time if we have a mobile phone, so why was I bothering (ie I should just get with the programme).
It's fascinating how many people will cheer for their enslavement and demonise those of us who raise concerns.

You're absolutely right. It is the self-censorship that matters; so much cheaper to frighten people into doing it themselves.
Having said that, I still don't want mass surveillance. It's clear that the police don't want it either as they have to be begged to solve actual crimes.
If our MPs want it so badly, they can lead the way. Let's have 24/7 live footage of them going about their daily business and see if they enjoy it. Then they can ask us to think about it.

Back in the day when I was doing my BEd we had models of teaching types. One was Mother Hen (here's 30 I made earlier) and another is Joe Cool (learn if you like). We laughed about them then. But they seem to be models that are adopted.
I've met way too many teachers and assistants who pave the jungle for kids instead of helping them lace up their boots and have a go. Learning is hard so don't worry about it.

You could get a professor at a university to do a computer model study funded by a company that wanted to promote its vaccines and prove that the vaccines were amazing because the model would show that unless we took them we would all die and then governments could mandate them having spent our money on them and MPs coincidentally buy shares in said companies just before the stock went up.

The US empire has had its day. It was destroyed in the same way that all empires are; too big to manage and has pissed off too many along the way.
What a lot of citizens don't know is that the empire was never for them; it was for the deep state to enjoy the fruits while using its citizens to fund it. Not attending school is an interesting one.
It is possible to register children as home educated in England; don't know if that's the case in Scotland. I know a few home-schoolers (I do a bit of private tutoring for some) and they're glad their kids are out of the system.
Of course, we also know that some children are out of the system so that abuse can happen undetected and some are the children of parents who can't be arsed to do anything.
I've come across all types. The knack is knowing which is which.
I predict a case of a child death owing to violence/neglect which will be used to crack down on home-schoolers (low-hanging fruit) and the abusive/negligent will continue to be left alone.

The people who do it aren't clever or sly or good at covering their tracks. They exploit policy and use systems to their own ends. They using kickbacks to get people in the system to turn a blind eye. And once done, it cannot be got out of without admitting guilt. Alea iacta est. And so it continues.
This is common in tribal groups. Power goes to those who are the strongest and they must have power so they can use it reward others in the tribe while plundering and/or destroying those who are not.

Trust in policing in the UK is at an all-time low. Police are in thrall to lobby groups, and senior police behave like wannabe politicians. There seems to be little training in the law and lots of behaviour to support *laws* which they wish were the law.
Policing by consent and without fear or favour is out of the window. They often act as the private militia for certain lobby groups and there are a lot of malicious complainers that have the ear of the police.

Agreed. I liked the part where Goering said that had Germany won, the US would be on trial for Hiroshima. The show trial element was well-portrayed. The attention to period detail was good and the whole film had a colourless tint that was effective. I also liked the interaction between Kelly and Goering's family.
The journalist was a weak point and was possibly a plot hole; would she have been allowed access to the executions after writing an article that made the US look bad?
I thought the script was excellent. We chatted for over an hour in the pub afterwards.

It's a very good point.
It's also a good example of how citizens and governments are conflated.
Governments use taxation (in theory) to make collective spending decisions for the good of the people who provide the money. In practice they use it to further their goals of global domination which benefit them personally. They then *blame* the citizens for government actions and use taxes to *punish* their citizens for said government actions.
So for example, if the government bombs the shit out of a country because - reasons- (war on terror/drugs/whatever) then it ensures (through the presstitutes) that the citizens are seen as morally culpable (because they elected the government, right?) and therefore the *aid* sent abroad is a form of plenary indulgence/humanitarian support and the price you pay for the privilege of being able to bomb the shit out of places, because . . .reasons. This also includes the deliberate influx of migrants (some of which have had the shit bombed out of their country) but many who haven't - if your country hadn't behaved badly then they wouldn't be here, but also they should be here because . . reasons.
It's a rigged game and the only way to win is to refuse to play.
Stop voting for these criminals (and they're all criminals).
Stop paying taxes (they can't fund this shit without your money).

Alas, yes. It's not quite as bad in the UK as say San Francisco, but I suspect that any homeless charity in receipt of taxpayer money automatically becomes incentivised to keep the problem going rather than solve it in any meaningful sense.

It depends upon the circumstances.
Many homeless charities understand that there are different types of homeless people. Some are there because of a few terrible circumstances and won't need much help to get back on their feet again. Some are homeless because they are predisposed to making poor choices and no amount of money will help them.
The knack is identifying which are which.

This also begs the question why our political classes don't seek diplomatic solutions by way of persuading other governments to abolish the death penalty for protesting peacefully, asking for increased free speech etc. I think we know the answer.

We did take the aerial tramway to the top of San Jacinto and the views were wonderful. We also drove up to Idyllwild and down to the other side to Banning coming back to Palm Springs through the valley past the windmills. I shall add these recommendations for next time. It's a beautiful part of the world.

AI is going to be interesting.
I saw an ad for using AI at work which sold it on the grounds that people in offices had no time to either write or read emails, so AI could do it for them.
It made me wonder what they were doing in the office.
