The Bitcoin community is ever changing. The network brings us together as a collective, and Bitcoin culture is a manifestation of that network. It’s a community, yet it’s a unique expression for every individual. The Beautiful Balance of Bitcoin is that it is a piece of software, and also a cultural movement. Can we define what that culture is ? Practically, the culture is the people who choose to run the software, but ideologically it’s the people who share the same values and ideals. These people are what define Bitcoin. These people run Bitcoin because they have certain values and beliefs about the world they want to live in. It’s funny how you can be a Bitcoiner without running the software or owning Bitcoin. To me the ideology of Bitcoin existed well before Bitcoin. Every choice we make is defining in some way. I feel you Hieronymus, you are right to say they are just words at the moment. But we know that Bitcoin was just an idea to begin with, we know that Bitcoin Culture and community never existed only a few years ago.. so much has changed in such a short time and this thing is only just beginning. As artists we will keep doing what we do regardless of what the future looks like, but the hope and faith that Bitcoin can make things better for all of us (including artists) is something real. For as long as we have thoughts, the thoughts can become words, the words can become actions, the actions become habits, the habits can become character, and the character becomes destiny. Thank you for sharing man! I really appreciate your thoughts, and I absolutely agree. It’s a very long road and there’s no way to unite all artists around this. But hopefully some people will see that this is a problem for basically all ‘Bitcoin Artists’ at the moment and this means it’s a general issue. In fact it’s an issue for the vast majority of artists around the world and this has been an ongoing struggle for many many years. As I see it though, the Bitcoin community is trying to do something different in the world. Trying to make the world a better and fairer place. So if we truly believe Bitcoin is a new way forward for humanity in a meaningful way, then our decisions need to reflect that, and this can be done by anyone regardless of their Bitcoin. I agree that the whales could change things to a certain extent if they wanted but this is much more of a general attitude towards artists not really being of monetary value. I believe people want to support and find better ways to build and I believe together we can find that way. the thing is we need to talk and express what is going on and make people aware of how we want things to be different in a Bitcoin world. Hopefully with awareness, this will affect decisions on how this can be made better for artists. It’s a very complicated and long process but it’s worth it brother. Horns up🤘🧡⚡️
