There's a lot of incredulity and outrage about how this administration is "governing" by destroying. But this administration does not intend to govern our country.
They want to dismantle it, strip it for parts, sell off the parts, starve and kill off everyone who is not "loyal."
Any universal supports will be redirected only to loyalists. All services limited to those who can pay.
It's still an outrage, but not at all inscrutable if we remember they do not want to govern.

It really depended where you lived. I went to 23 different schools in the '70s and '80s between kindergarten and college, because I lived a whole lot of places.
As a child we had state or county funded clinics in some areas, not in others.
Later when I was on my own I usually had to rely on Planned Parenthood for basic things like antibiotics.

We also didn't have "urgent care" facilities for most of that time. You either had a primary care physician, or you went to the ER. "Urgent care" was created in response to that.
Very recently medical bills were classed as not counting against your credit score, I bet that part will be stripped away again.

I spent most of my life pre-ACA without health insurance, or only at intermittent times based on who I was working for. I didn't have health insurance the entire time I was in grad school. I didn't have it for most of my 20s and 30s. Which meant having to go to the ER when I had asthma. And then just never being able to pay for it.

None of this is funny to me. I'm likely to lose my health insurance, which is no joke when you're heading into your 60s. And my kid may well lose theirs, if ACA is repealed and all these 18-26 year olds are kicked off their parents' insurance.

I'm serious, if your life is built around WFH assumptions for child care, transportn, etc, you need a contingency plan.
Remember the whole *point* of the telework ban is to get federal employees to quit--they openly say that!--so don't expect it to be very accomodative. We'll see how local implementation works but I suspect OMB/OPM guidance won't be pretty."

No matter which browser I use, or what search terms, or how I phrase it, or even going in using UDM14, or what settings I just wasted my time by changing in the past 38 minutes, it only shows me local results.
I can zoom out and look at entire USA & there's only a little red bundle of results right around my town, unless I specify another town very specifically, & then only around that town.
I have found a lot of others complaining about this online too but no sound fixes

Not necessarily only CVS but many other things.
Anyway. It seems like most of the alternatives are simply direction maps or driving maps or topical maps, not something searchable in that way.
I am so sick of how we are now forced into this little corner to only do what a search engine WANTS us to do, which is always "go shop nearby" or "buy crap online." Period. Nothing else.

I've been trying to find an alternative to #GoogleMaps that is not just a direction-finder.
What I mean is, I am super frustrated with Google Maps because I can't make it show me things outside my local area (and I see that many others have had this same issue). This is even though I have NEVER let it "use your current location." So for example, say I want to see CVS locations in entire USA or even just in Pennsylvania.
No matter how I phrase it, it will ONLY show my locations in my county.
