A: There's no legal way. I may cut my legs, but I'll likely end up in the psych ward isntead of the Europe lol (it was a joke just in case I'm not going to do that).

I think that they are screwed in some parts of the world. There definitely will be a pushback (and there is, especially in some places) that can be opposed only by LGBT people.

Q: In all you time running this AMA page, how has it been in your experience? What are the pros and cons of running this and have you had to ever deal with trolls flooding it or does it have spam filters?
A: Straw page has some sort of filtering. Even for texts. I don't know if it's an LLM or some pretty advanced regex filter, but I made some tests and it won't pass messages like "fuck y0u b1tch" to me.
It may filter what I'll like, but I'll never know. I definitely didn't have trolls flooding my questions.
Images have a clear premoderation with a delay that may take a day or two.
I actually thought about running something else without moderation. But didn't get to it yet.

A: I've seen it, I used /cm for a little time to find cure arts (didn't open it for a long time actually), I know that you can find some interesting links in there such as about running local AI systems.
I cant take seriously screenshots from that place, I didn't like the communication style of those people. I hate the agressive communication style of people who clearly were actively using places like that before.

A: I'm not an expert in a state of American nation and even US politics but it's expected for a big system to be messed up and for older people to talk how bad the next new generation is, how they don't want to learn, or work, and so on.
Also it's important to know, comparing to what do you think America is decaying right now. I can't easily pinpoint a period in the past. But I'm bad in the American history.
I defintely think though that American institutions are in not a good shape right now.

Q: What are the main communication apps that are open source that you use and trust or do they not exist as of now?
A: Deltachat (slop/arcane chat to be specific), Signal, Threema, XMPP. I trust all of them more than Matrix at least. But let's be fair, they all have their own pitfalls (hi OMEME).

Q: Have you used matrix the chat platform and what are your thoughts on it?
A: I have used it.i currently use it to talk to some people. I will definitely not use it to talk to my mom in the close future. I don't consider it as a reliable method of communication.
Main issues I remember so far:
- "The sender device has not sent us keys for this message" messages from my Mom when she's at the countruhouse. It's a known issue for a long time for a slow unstable connections. Could be fixed in 2021 by compiling a custom app and reconfiguring your server. Probably can't be easily fixed this way today lol.
I guess developers live in places with stable fast connection where they have no risk of internet loss after power outage due to a hurricane or friendly drones of your neighbours. Or maybe they have backup starlinks for satellite internet. Good for them. Bad for everyone else. Don't trust matrix for emergency communication.
- unstable clients. Literally a few weeks ago Fluffychat corrupted it's own app database force logging me off. Good luck searching for recovery keys or another active session for verification especially when you're not behind a computer. Previously the database corruption was happening at the autumn as far as I remember.
I switched to Element X that lacks some functions but hopefully will be stable. Think twice about using non-mainstream client.
- awful moderation. Imagine sending telegram links in an unencrypted chat to matrix.org user and they never receiving them because matrix.org temporarily filtering all messages mentioning telegram with no notifications to other people. Especially if it's a message like "hey username, drones near you go to shelter https://t.me/mon1tor_ua/64822 ".
I remember it happening at least once. I'm pretty sure it may happen again.
Once more, don't trust matrix for emergency communication. Encryption may get proken, non-ebcrypted messages may get silently filtered. And you'll never know when that happens.
Mostly these are my main concerns with matrix. If these issues get fixed, I may change my mind about it.

A: I've tried to use it. Found it mostly unusable from a regular user perspective. From what I can remember:
- alien interface which wasn't easy to get used to even for me. Tell about somebody like my mom. The really need a design team.
