I have been a Knots proponent for a while and have felt increasingly anxious about the whole Op_Return debate and the potential fallout from BIP444.
This is a great podcast that I encourage everyone to listen to.
I now have some perspective of where the Core supporters are coming from and why ₿Itcoin will survive it.
Still running Knots because I didn’t like the way Core steamrolled over the community but I feel more encouraged and assured that ₿Itcoin will continue to thrive.

When tokens are very centralized and rug pulls are sudden (insider dumps all tokens in 1 go) - everyone recognizes the dcam. At least, victims get angered and try to go after the scammers.
The most insidious scams are when there is a veneer of decentralization and a slow steady dumping of the shitcoin by insiders on holders.
Here, the victims don’t even realise they are being led to the guilotine. They blame war, supply chains, Putin, inflation…anything. Instead, the lambs even hero worship their shepherds…hoping they get them out of the predicament.
Biggest of which is fiat by the Fed and the central banks of the world.

There are risks to Bitcoin and a likelihood remains that it could fail if it is no longer decentralized or secure.
1) Node software is overwhelmingly Bitcoin Core (>95%)
2) ASICS are primarily manufactured in China by 2 companies
3) Minining Pools are increasingly centralized by FPPS payments
I hope Bitcoiners will pay more attention to these risks and actively work to overcome them.
