Love their stuff - I remember being a bit fed up because I missed them at trans pride one year and randomly the next evening I caught them doing an open mic set at my fave Brighton pub. Twinkly arpeg and synth drama, and soaring vocals. They did an amazing version of Kate Bush' This woman's work. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area... and it looks like @npub1nuu…gjr3 is doing the visuals too... so double win if you're going. Quadruple win in fact, because there's actually 3 performers that night. :) Or is that a (makes up random work for winning if it's 5 people)???

Interesting that up until yesterday I had no problems with my usual audio capture via my old PC, but I tested it on my newer laptop and it definitely didn't like one of my devices. So thanks for the heads up on that.

I'm curious about how anyone live music streaming with obs studio using different audio sources glues together the tracks in obs? In my case I'm using a usb mic audio capture for vocals and another single usb audio capture for combined synths and sampler. In Cubase I use bx masterdesk classic on the final stereo output. Is there a way to combine inputs in obs studio into a single channel and add bx masterdesk to it? I'm trying to keep my setup so it's not draining the resources.

Working on the 7th track for a live music stream - a mashup/re-jiggle of various tracks from T*1. Got the Akai sampler working alongside the synth backing for a bit of a sample jam section. Still need to do more with it, but I like how raw it is.

Been thinking about how to get some Danger Lift Machine style stuff into a live music streaming setup. As I'm going to be doing a bit of synth noodling and need a timer to remind myself that videos are ending and I should be finishing off a track shortly, it might be an idea to have appropriate DLM snippets play towards the end of the video instead of a visual timer alert?!?

Got a vocal effects chain together in OBS studio that I'm happy with (in prep for a music live stream) - keeping it minimal and using resource light VST plugins. It's really handy that you can check the CPU use in OBS. Currently not going over 10% when recording and using video. Going to add in the synth for the next one and see what the impact is and how it all sits together.

Did another live music test last night - mainly testing instrument volumes and live vocals. Looking to do a plan B for vocals early on (maybe pre-recorded/sampled), but also with the idea that I want to do some live. The home set up is tricky, as I'm too self conscious of the neighbours below my usual music setup and my vocals end up being a whisper. Will look at shifting things into the kitchen instead when I'm working on the live setup. #fedimusician

Realised that a song I've revisited a few times over the past 15 years (but never really had a solid musical home) fits nicely with a jam I created on the SH4D. Next step is to get a vocal fx chain in OBS setup. #fedimusic

Enjoying reworking a few of my older tracks with the SH4D synth / sequencer / drum machine. Even playing via the teeny weeny buttons is fun. Trying to do synth parts live, and keeping mistakes if they don't cause a problem in the track.

Working through ideas for rejigging Midnight Detective Club etc tracks into something I'm more comfortable with sequencing (and doing the odd vocal) live. Probably more minimal than my usual releases, but I think taking it back to a 1979/1980 "I've got 3 synths and a drum machine" feel will work.

I'm still thinking about how I could do something musical live online and also make it entertaining. Replay in Neon generally involves me looking at my phone... not very entertaining. Maybe if I filmed myself while doing it and ocassionally looked up and smiled winsomely that would be enough. ;)

Here's a bit of background (that no-one asked for) to my Replay in Neon track on the last #Bonkwave release - Take the Kids to Sellafield Beach.
A while ago I was working with someone who'd just come back from their summer holidays. A work colleague asked them how it went, and their reply was, "Oh, it was great. We took the kids to Sellafield." The reaction to this was kind of "Oooookay, that's ummm nice?!?"
For those who don't know, Sellafield is a nuclear power plant in the North of England probably best known for its "incidents".
The thing is, when you look at the coast around it, it's beautiful and rugged and you probably would visit it.
So this track is trying to represent that combination of nuclear power plant and a fun summer day trip to the beach... along with the threat of 60 foot high mutated green glowing crabs.

After being welcomed to the Neighbourhood, I've been listening a lot to @npub1tk7…6cq3 Curxes / Verxes tape - Loads of great tracks. Trying to narrow my faves down from What you want, Further Still, Run from the funeral, Animal, Pure to Last, Spectre - Born Stranger remix, Valkyrie - Deluxe flamingos remix (a mix of gritty crunchy electroclash and lovely mellow songs). The Spectre - Soil in the Synth remix would go down well at 1990s Banshee gothy club in Manchester too.

Going back to the random idea I had a while ago of putting together diy tapes like I did in the 1980s / 1990s of my music, I've put together one and am now not sure what to do with it. Think I shared it before on here. It's very handmade/ramshackle (includes sticky tape residue on the box and pencil smudges on the tape I can't get off) and is made from an old tape I re-recorded over, but I redid the cover this weekend. It's the sort of thing I'd have lent to friends in the 90s. I was thinking of putting it on Bandcamp to give it away, but it seems like a faff. Was even thinking of paying the p&p to send it to whoever wanted it. "Why do it?" you might ask... that's if you've got this far. Because I like the silly idea of a limited edition 1 copy random ramshackle tape giveaway. Anyway, if anyone wants it, let me know. #fedimusic #synthpop #chiptune #ambient

A few years ago I also released this 3D Bitsy - Sister Spring, Brother Winter. Another slice of winter folktale. A wood spirit collects fallen pieces of sun to welcome back Sister Spring.

The large character in the 2nd screen was from an old out of copyright book image. I was able to import it and then tidy it up using Image to Bitsy.
I should get back into using 3D Bitsy. It was fun to build the scenes with it. :)
