the maddest thing I did in that respect was I think it was Windows95 where you could specify wav files for all kind of events, max/minimizing windows and the like.
I then got all the files from the game Quake and associated them fittingly. Glorious days!

A question I ask myself from time to time: Discipline doesn’t seem in any way a favorable trait anymore. So, how do you use it when you need it without having ever learned it, or do you get by without discipline?

I can understand that - that video was ridiculous and she apparently fell for the forces that the analytics dashboard of YT exerts on you.
Even so, paper mills are a thing, are they not? And the linked article still doesn’t engage with her years old main argument that particle physics is not doing good science by providing models that can be disproven but do not really add anything essential to the current body of physics.
It is unfortunate that her overshooting now means that we will not see any engagement with her main arguments, but I also agree that this is hardly the time to attack science as a whole, considering the damage that is being done as we speak by the private sector. Privatization of science, pfff!

Protecting a #democracy against its own electorate is kind of…conceptually broken. Is there a solution out there that makes sense?
When the majority is not interested in democratic processes, the logical conclusion is their unwinding.
Of course, getting them back on is much harder, but that’s a different story.
And sure you can ask why the majority is not interested in such a situation - clearly we failed at educating the current and future electorate.
