@nprofile…8atu I ain't seen anyone use LLMs in a way that builds trust except for that thing that found security vulnerabilities that Mozilla touted. So I'm pretty skeptical that this potential will ever be realized.

Anyone need a software dev manager for satellite image processing?
I am laid off, so I don't even have to be quiet when I look now. (And I need no condolences. I am happy to be out.)

Current law requires a Washington driver's license. The initiative would require an enhanced driver's license. If that wasn't part of the record, then they have to go in person with a document from a specific list that prove citizenship (and says that Puerto Rico birth certificates from before 2010 don't count). And would require reviewing all existing registrations with a presumption that they are invalid.

(I know it's not, because I remember all the names of the people who worked on it when I took over dev management of it. But yeah, it was roughly 9 months after it was originally slated to go live.)

I see there's going to be a state constitution ballot measure to outlaw slavery and involuntary servitude outright this fall. Basically, you could no longer be sentenced to involuntary servitude and prisoners would have the right to refuse work assignments if this passes.

As much as I dislike all the fediverse moderation drama, and think that some instances go overboard, by and large I'm pretty thrilled that most instances will be aggressive about modding away the shitheels.

"It’s never just one man. It’s the men at the podium and it’s the men around them who gave them their jobs. It’s the men who have starved women’s football since they bothered to notice that women play it. It’s the men who have moved into the women’s game not to improve it, but to exploit it. It’s the men who step into leadership roles with little experience and capitalize on women’s work and talent. We are all sick and tired of it."
