Interesting had a suspicion that many many big portion of their stack self custody to custodial as their net worth goes on because they’re afraid of either personal attacks or a critical error they make my mistake. If the US were a company or an individual, we have acquired so much debt that it is literally impossible to grow fast enough to pay down the debt in your real world. The company or the person would go bankrupt, but the US has one other option which is a money pretty machine in their basement. This is the path of least resistance because if we cut things like Social Security or Medicare or defense, and all of a sudden people don’t get the money they were told they were going to get they can’t spend money in the economy because they don’t have fucking money to spend and everything implodes. We are between a rock and a hard place and all of human history suggests we will take the path of lease resistance to avoid the inevitable immediate chaos that would ensue from austerity. I think it’s important to think all of the bitcoins that put in so much time and energy into education. Without them I would never have learned anything. How many of you keep a portion of your bitcoin with a custodian (I know that’s not MY Bitcoin) to hedge against doing something idiotic with self custody because you don’t 100 percent trust yourself not be a dumbass? The one that wasn’t premined. The one that isn’t being shilled by cringey, wannabe American influencers. The one the U.S. barely owns, thanks to its own hubris and shortsightedness on this issue.
Our personal preferences are the least important factor in choosing the right assets for our national stockpile, and this is a matter of national strategic importance. The only question that truly matters is this: What assets are *other* countries—especially our adversaries—most likely to choose?
If you cannot confidently say that nations like China or Russia will add massive amounts of your favored crypto asset to *their* strategic reserves, then you are being insincere—and you’re undermining the future security and prosperity of this nation.
