You are probably with some few ones here, few peoples that make a true proof of human work. With your view and your words.

News are sometimes a question of time.
One is verified, the other is just possible, now.
But before the status verified, you always have the "possible" status.
A system is often claimed secured, before it is hacked.
What i was saying is clear.
Using a VPN is like giving your trust to the entity owning this VPN.
you know verified news said some govs request companies to store datas about users "for good reasons" like the "Stored Communications Act" or "Snooper's Charter" or "Data Retention Directives".

So yes, it still a possibility until someone prove and publish an unexpected leak of datas.
So for VPN it is not only about a fight between free vs paid.

The best VPN ? Your own one, hosted on a famous and big hosting platform, with an open source software you install on it.
A little tricky to install and configure for newbies but your freedom worth it.

As i said i'm not for people who killed child or mother whatever country they are from.
Hamas just killed jews children and attacked some young civilian too.
I am not saying like you than one is the angel and have any rights to fight back even the right to kill children, whatever side they are.
I am saying it is a never ending vicious circle that have is source in a long years history of fight and fight back loop.
And the solution is not to fight back more and more each time, from each side.
It is time to make peace with people in each side. And not let the hate grow because of bad leaders that don't care to send terrorists or soldiers to kill every one in their missions.
It is not idealistic, because all people in both side don't want the war. But the ones who lead them have choose this way.
if i were in palestine, yes, i would protest again the hamas "killing" actions as much as if i were in israel i would also protest against this huge "killing" actions.
Because on both side they justify the usage of weapons to respond to the other side attack. But nothing can justify innocent killed on whatever side they are.
For me the palestinian innocents don't have more value than israeli innocents, and the opposite is true too. An innocent life is a life.
And i am not talking about soldiers or terrorists life because they have choose the war option so they are not "innocents" anymore whatever the reason of this choice.
As a good move a big "walk" of israeli "people" who are against the war could bring some food, water and clothes to the barrier their soldier keep to break the blockade. But it would have to be a mass israeli protest to be able to do that, not just a street protest like some do nowadays.
Hope this kind of action will happen. Some israeli have their parents killed in Germany during the second W war because of hate, and it is amazing their leader do the same mass killing to innocent peoples like children.

It is weird to have to be an adult to see child killed or injured by other adults.
They want to protect some children to the consequence of the barbarian actions on unprotected children.
I am not saying it is good to show these butcher scene to children eyes.
But these pictures/videos shouldn't exist nowadays, whatever the country in the world.
Hate and stupid peoples make innocent victims.
It is really time to look above the bounds of any country, we are all humans, and we share the same earth.
Countries, religions, propaganda are just made by some humans to rule some others humans and blind them.
But nature didn't make us born with theses "rules".
We are all children of earth, we are not born to hate anyone else.
But some humans teach some other how to hate for any shitty reasons.

I am not for the palestinian or for the israeli "victory". I am for the life of both..., of innocent people..., of people in both country that are tired to live in a war zone, and just want to leave in peace with each other.
And they are a lot of people that think that, but it is not their voices that are speaking louder.
I would like to see more news about palestinian protest movement against hammas terrosist and israeli protesting against their blind-exterminator-government because both kill innocents.

It is quite the same, people here are different, and it is why it is so interesting.
Some are really deep thinkers, some are just bring fun and jokes, some are just curious, and other talk about very interesting subjects or just show amazing stuff.

But does that mean open source project guarantee a good usage of the AI ? More than a closed project ?

A bot would not claim about all his time working on his project.
Because a bot has time, as long as it is powered.
And you filter the news you publish.
Some AI bot can have some specific behavior and seems to be friendly, but they don't care as you do about others. The way readers got the news, the warning you put on some news, and the post-news replies to messages about the news.
I am not saying a deep AI can't fake that behavior, nowadays.
But it would need a lot of energy for that, much more than the energy you put in this work, so it wouldn't worth it for an AI bot owner.

It is not about culture but bad leaders, as in germany during the 2nd WWar or in Israel now.
People are not all for their leaders.
They are not all extremist.
Some "simple" mind people are mind washed from childhood to hate other with a huge propaganda.
For me the problem of russia is not peoples, but sick and devil leaders.
They are just driving their country to poorness and destruction.

Ai industry sell bullshit for sure, as other industries too.
I remember computer was built to help people in their tasks, and now we got people slave because of computer or smartphone, doing task their smartphone "advice" them to do, and they even have to loose their time to fill captcha...
But.
AI made a lot of progress, and few years ago it was impossible to "vibe code with it". Now it is no perfect but possible.
And AI just progress with time.

AI grow faster, and a lot of invest are done in computers/hardware optimization and performance for AI.
It is just like the chess "computer" player.
Yes, the first ones only compute 5/6 moves forward. But now "computer" player win most of the times even very good humans player.
For code it will be the same. For the moment AI is only good to create part of code. But soon it will do a lot more and a lot better than most coders. It is not fiction, it is just facts when you see the learning curve of AI and the progress they do year after year.
AI evolution
1- They try to do the "best" code they can with the code they have been trained on
2- They can optimize code with the huge optimized code they have been trained on
3- They are multiple AI-agent that work together to build, correct, test, adapt, optimize code, and deliver it to the host server.
4- AI auto-improve code to write it in a new optimized form that human can't read easily (or can understand with a lot of time).

You know at the beginning apple computers were used by doctors, artists, scientists, because of the "simple usage" against windows... now, even if a macbook is more expensive than a PC with windows, Mac products are bought and used by any kind of users.
I think for #nostr it is quite the same, they are a lot of good people here with deep mind. Yes, this is used by a crypto community but not only.
People will come here, but not in a massive move.
Perception is interesting to know, to adapt nostr marketing and make it more easy to use for everyone.
But, i still think there is no reason to worry, just continue to use it as we do. We are not in a little vision here but a long marathon.
Nostr is not "the place to be" (without any reason to be there).
It is the place where you decide to be, and this is the most important point, for current and new users.

Thank you for sharing with us all this "private" thinking.
The good point is that you are curious about others opinions or advices. And it is a good skill, if you want to improve your own opinion. Open mind is always a good state of mind.
The less good point is that you seems to be a little "lost". But it is not for long, you just need to find your path.
Your life can be seen as climbing a mountain.
You have to find climbing holds to put your hands and feet in it, just to be able to go higher.
You can made bad choice and use a bad spot to put your hands, but it will not be the end, and you can choose another climbing hold, more secure.
If you choose only bad climbing holds and fall, your rope's life is your family and good friends, they will not let you down.
If you stop climbing you will just have cramps in your hands and feet, and it will be harder to continue climbing.
The more you climb, the higher your view around you will be.
My advice will be quite simple, just allow you to "try" something.
It can be silly in other eyes, the most important is the trust and energy you can put it in to make it a success.
And if it is a bad move finally just try something else.
The most important is to be wise enough to secure yourself "financially" if things goes wrong to avoid you a bad fall.
For sharing back to you some personal experience, i think i am older than you and see things a different way. I don't regret any choice i have done younger but now i take more time for valuables things to my eyes.
Which not always match the valuables things to "society" eyes.
I try to hold less things, to keep only essential.
I try to discover other countries, peoples, state of mind. I travel when i can afford it.
I don't want to have a villa, i live in a common house like many people, but would like to live in a smaller house like a tiny one, it would just fit my needs. Having a little garden to enjoy and have foods growing in it.
Having the less footprint on the nature would be a challenge and having a good impact on nature (add some "value" to it) would be a bonus.
The only point that keep me "in the system" is the health.
I know it cost a lot when you are older and need medicine or healthcare. And this is a point that make me rely on other because i am not a doctor or a surgeon.
Most of my skills were born from passions, and they have grown by themself. i think it is the good way to keep going on your path.
You can also discover and learn skill from others, sometimes a simple meet is a complete game changer.
The only point that matter is that you are the only one to know deeply what is good for you.
Just dare, it always worth it.

It depends the way you can "earn" sats.
If every words have a price, everyone couldn't afford to pay to speak each time.
It will reduce noise but also "little" voices too.
And the value you could have is companies ads (for them it is a lot cheaper), and the one who invest to speak.
As you said it can be worth to see what will happen if zap become mandatory vs the old system.

And after any backdoor is implemented there is always a security hole for "everyone" else.
It is like the TSA for luggage, they say, "don't worry we will be the only one to have the key to check inside your luggage".
Finally now you can find any TSA key on amazon or everywhere else.
So luggage are not protected anymore.
TSA is just fake bullshit luggage lock security now. It let imagine people their luggage can be open "only" by police, but it is just wrong.

It seems tariff "deal" with china and other countries are not easy to do.
it seems a deal with russia and ukraine is hard to do
it seems a deal with israel and palestine is hard to do.
Finally he just face reality as any others and continue to claim he is a warrior without any real deal made !

but sadly we are too few, or they would be very hard politics crisis.
