I have been to the site which is adjacent to a Natural Gas power plant. These people hired their own people to take db measurements and they were told by those engineers that there was no notable difference in sound. I wouldn’t say the tech fell short. Battery and Antenna configuration are important for endurance and distance. Setting up high points is critical for long range base of comms. Robust vehicle/mobile configurations are best for utility. Setup as node/repeater. Overall meshtastic belongs in the PACE plan at the A or C level behind starlink & HAM solution depending on HAM qualifications.

All great points. I’ll add you will have an easier time geographically if rain and sun are abundant. Mountains provide tremendous security against invasion. Nuclear fallout should also be considered. Whole home generators and gas stoves that run from a 1000 gal tank are good insurance for food, power and communications (Starlink mini & meshtastic.) Abundant wildlife & chickens are easy food sources in a pinch. Local knowledge of plants and fungi can be used for medicine & food. Ram and hand pumps that feed water tanks will also make life easier.
