For beginners or anyone who doesn’t have the funds to physically mine, I have found the best cloud mining app on the AppStore. It’s called bitcoin mining, nothing fancy just a miner. I was never really concerned with privacy as my rights were protected by the constitution, but now that we have a felon in the White House, that has made very clear he gives zero fucks about your rights, so I find myself using VPN’s and private relay a lot more now.

Yes, Android is very customizable, for awhile it was actually fun being a part of some well known rom teams. Then Google killed of the custom recovery partition, which meant you were either taking a chance using TWRP’s modified files or you had to tether and use fastboot, and Alex retired so no one was working on new features or bringing up new OS versions. Now it’s just copy/paste post and pat yourself on the back.
It got to a point where the downsides far outweighed the upsides so I made the switch.
It’s been difficult in some ways, I can’t argue that, but the overall experience, IMHO, has been a lot better than anything Android offers.

Android is garbage, you’re not telling me anything I don’t already know.
In your hurry to try and push modified OS’, you neglected to mention graphene only works on pixel because it’s the only device that will allow you to relock the bootloader. You can’t do that with LOS or any other custom rom, so I am not sure why you would even mention them. An unlocked bootloader means I can wipe your device and FRP will not save you, you just lost your device.
Now I will be the first one to point out some not so great things about iOS, I’m not a sheep, because what does make it great, far outweighs what you give up by switching.
And for the record, iOS works out of the box, I don’t have to modify anything. I don’t need to flash a custom kernel because Google’s sucks. I don’t need to flash a custom rom because the stock rom is a bloated mess, not to mention you lose all of your proprietary features unless a developer sees worth in reverse engineering. Kdragon FTW

Do you know anything about ROM development? Usually one or two of the bigger teams work on bringing up the new OS version, ground zero roms was famous for this and their GZOSP base was what most of the roms were built on top of. DU was famous for bringing up new versions as well, so it wasn’t really a surprise that development stagnated once Alex called it quits.
So, you have developers free to create whatever they wish, but let’s get the important shit done first so everyone can enjoy it and stop worrying about building a reputation.

The non tech people aren’t going to join unless there is at least something about this protocol that is similar to what they already use. The bridge is a hack, that’s all it is. Nostr was never meant to interact with the fediverse as they are built on two completely different protocols with two completely different paradigms. Nostr is about freedom, the fediverse is not.

Privacy, to me, is not letting the whole world know every little thing I do, regardless of what handle I am using. Hell, I use a VPN for apps AND private relay when browsing the net.
I am one of those authentic people but they usually just call me an asshole. 🤣
I do agree that Nostr needs more engagement, but until the client developers realize the protocol is plateauing because they cater only to tech minded people, I don’t see it getting much bigger anytime soon.

Have you ever been through a major metropolitan transit system? Have you ever seen artists along the hallways, singing and/or playing instruments in the hopes of making a few bucks? That’s exactly what Nostr reminds me of when I use apps that support zaps.
I am not saying you can’t zap people, not at all, I am simply saying that the whole world doesn’t need to know about it.
As far as authenticity, it’s no different than YouTube, people say or do things they think you want to hear in order to gain likes/subscribers. How many people actually like/subscribe to your content is not a metric for whether or not the content is genuine.
I’m confused, I thought we valued our privacy here? 🤔
Value for value, over forty years ago, before the term became trendy and turned into an acronym.
