Realistically it is price. Even things that were once thought ok are charnging. For instance at a vacation condo complex they stopped heating hot tubs due to spike in energy costs. Same applies to Bitcoin, if you find a source of energy for the price that makes sense to mine, you will do so, otherwise not.

Yes it is kind of like that. They would use a higher volume exchange like Coinbase Pro, but they will try to buy .26434 Bitcoin and then .234106 Bitcoin and then .1456543, etc random amounts and then other people don't see a pattern or large volume. If the market moves, the bot reprices a penny below current price and continues. So then it does support the market from dropping, but doesn't raise price if they are patient enough.

They have software known as a trading bot. It will auto set bids for small amounts and they will do this continuously for a few days or weeks until the amount is purchased.

You need to look at big picture only. Of course network effect is not comparable at this point. However, engagement with smaller audience is already apparent. There is a reason, big picture people would rather support a constructive platform, and for me personally I am willing to give up some useful content and instead contribute and encourage others here to build and share on this platform. Correct, custodial wallet has no benefit from lightning rules, they should never been used for more than pocket change it whatever amount you can lose without worry. There are wallets such as Phoenix and Breeze, they are lightning nodes. There are many others, but if you want the benefit of receiving without sending first, these two offer a compromise where you can do a swap from on chain to lightning. During this swap, in that moment it is custodial. But at rest it is non custodial. Anyway the point is you can run a lightning node on your phone, no need for custodial, that is only a convenience that you are trading for complete loss of funds as a possibility.

That is incorrect. When using a non custodial lightning node, there is a smart contract between the parties to ensure rules are followed. Either party can close the channel to receive the Bitcoin on chain at any time. A cooperative close results in cheaper chain fees, a force close takes more time and more fees.
